Coming from a Senegalese bloodline and growing up in Martinique (West Indies), Fényan is deeply rooted in black music. Epitome of a childhood in the West indies. A Caribbean tale about Kreyol language, about legacy and resilience, about turning victimhood into proactivity. 'Douvan Douvan' can be translated by "avant garde" in Kreyol.
