Early 1960 Gwigwi Mrwebi recorded with Hugh Masakela and Kippie Moeketsi in the Jazz Dazzlers, and even earlier he played with the Jazz Maniacs and the Harlem Swingsters. The Blue Notes came after him in 1965 and two years later he recorded these sixteen short, exhalirating jazz tracks in the dance style then captivating South Africa, bursting with beautiful melodies. Players include Coleridge Goode, Chris McGregor, Dudu Pukwana, Ronnie Beer and Laurie Allan. Remastered at Abbey Road, sleevenotes by Steve Beresford.
