Knutur, Svavar
Ahoy! Side B
Some journeys just take a bit longer than expected and sometimes bring you to new and unexpected places. Icelandic singer-songwriter Svavar Knútur concludes his long-standing musical project with 'Ahoy! Side B', where the troubadour from the north of Iceland reflects on his life and adventures and the many roles a human must serve. Originally, 'Ahoy!' was supposed to be a single album. But Svavar also wanted to reinterpret many of his old songs, so he decided to split the album into two parts. Two EPs with bonus tracks that would ultimately fit together as a double album.
Tuber
Joyful Science
'Joyful Science' is the third release of the band Tuber. Tuber are a band from Greece but you'd think they came from California and brought the desert right in the room with you.
Molitor, Reinhold
Reinhold
Reinhold Molitor's self-titled LP (1969) offers a captivating journey through the rich tapestry of late 1960s Mexican music, yet it resonates deeply with the raw, organic sounds reminiscent of the early 1960s American underground folk scene. Hailing from Germany, Reinhold Molitor's musical journey took him to Mexico at the tender age of 19, where he collaborated with his brother Bodo Molitor, a fellow musician known for his own release 'Hits Internacionales' from 1969. Together, they crafted an album that stands as a testament to the power of music to transcend boundaries and evoke profound emotions in listeners.
Oakfarm
Oakfarm
'Oakfarm' is like an old hidden album from the '70s you've never heard of, lying untouched in an abandoned log cabin. When you put it on, sparks of live energy fly and the deep resonance of heavy rock raises the roof. Who are Oakfarm? These are Tobias Lemberger (guitar, vocals) from Sons and Preachers, Dennis Oelze (drums) and Arne Döpper (bass) from Bone Man. Limited to 300 copies on black vinyl.
Ornamental
Verwandlung Im Schlaf
Ornamental combines heavy psych with synth driven '80s NDW charm. Originally formed as a solo project of Sidney Jaffe (Arcane Allies, Burnpilot) the band transformed into a power quartet with Jonas Hehemann (Burnpilot, Tv Strange) on bass, Rouven Bienert (Tv Strange, Ruins) on guitar/synth and Lennart Uffmann (Brandmann) on the drums. 'Verwandlung Im Schlaf' loops hypnotic basslines and atmospheric riffs into a German vocal driven frenzy.

Ddt
Sweat Of The Sun
'Sweat Of The Sun' is the third album by DDT, the experimental project formed by members of Carlton Melton and White Manna. Like with their previous records, this album was recorded at 3D Light in Northern California where tracks evolved from several jam sessions and improvisations with steel and electric guitars, synthesisers, bass and double drums. Unlike their previous release, 2021's 'Freshwater,' which saw more members joining in with various parts and overdubs, 'Sweat Of The Sun' sees DDT paired down to just the core members, Anthony Taibi and Andy Duvall, with a looser, more laid back feel. The band has dedicated 'Sweat Of The Sun' to the memory of Anders Bröstrom, AKA Domboshawa, who sadly passed away at the end of 2023. It was Andy Duvall from the band who introduced the label to Anders' music and started a relationship spanning six releases on Drone Rock Records. This album is a perfect tribute to a wonderful, kind and extremely talented man. 'Sweat Of The Sun' is a super limited pressing of just 250 copies on 'Psychedelic Sun" coloured vinyl with the cover art giving a knowing nod to an iconic LP by the 13th Floor Elevators.

GARAGE/BEAT/SURF/ROCK’N’ROLL
Snipers
Come On! 1983/1985
French garage/power pop/rock band The Snipers were formed in Dijon in 1979 following the meeting between Tony Truant and Francois Huet. Since the group's signing with the New Rose label in 1982 they recorded 3 albums and 2 singles between 1983 and 1985. It is a large majority of these titles (26 out of 33 existing) which are compiled on this CD.
Wampas
Dracu Bop

Ye Ascoyne D'ascoynes
Supersonic Shoes
Ye Ascoyne d'Ascoynes were four Medway wannabes/would-bes who fired their own brand of garage/punk/pop across the land. Starting in late 1988, The Dentists' Bob Collins and ex-Dentist Ian Greensmith gathered in Medway's legendary 'The Hole' to play some '60s garage punk covers, also roping in Mark Aitken and Kevin Younger to form a firm line-up. After a year of blasting faves from the 'Pebbles' compilations, they decided not only to add in a few 'garaged up' covers of other lost classics, but also delving into writing their very own songs that combined their '60s garage roots with later influences from the likes of Buzzcocks and Pavement. Early 1990, they recorded a demo at Red Studios of six original songs, and a cover. Later that year, Kevin stepped down from the group. Come 1992, The Ascoynes went back into the studio as a trio to record their one and only single 'Just The Biggest Thing,' with Billy Childish as producer, subsequently releasing it on Billy's Hangman Records label. Early 1993, they went back to Red Studios to record more demos. This album is a result of those two demo recordings. 'Supersonic Shoes' provides prime unreleased early '90s garage from the best Medway band you've never heard of. Limited to 500 copies.
POP/ROCK/WAVE/NOISE
Asherton, Johan
Matinee Idols
Born 1958 in Paris, Johan Asherton is a singer-songwriter and guitarist in the haunted tradition of Scott Walker, Lou Reed, or Leonard Cohen. His albums range from "clair obscure" solo acoustic introspection to fully orchestrated drama. Following the bittersweet, semi-acoustic tones of the acclaimed 'Passiontide,' released in 2020, Johan Asherton returns with 'Matinee Idols,' a more rock oriented album that conveys his love for Golden Era Hollywood cinema throughout a series of '50s and '60s influenced vignettes ranging from sheer rock'n'roll, pop rock, torch song and even cabaret.
Brinsley Schwarz
Last Orders!
Issued on vinyl are archival recordings from the English '70s pub rock band, named after its guitarist Brinsley Schwarz and also featuring Ian Gomm and Nick Lowe. This collection contains some of the earliest recordings the band made for radio and television, plus outtakes, rehearsal tapes, home recordings and much more. Limited to 300 copies.
I-nichi
Mimiko
i-nichi is Tokyo-based singer and songwriter Seiko Nemoto. Seiko had previously come to the attention of UK audiences when her band Dai-Nichi supported The Chesterfields on tour in 2019, including a fantastic response at London's 100 Club, an experience Seiko could never have predicted when she started following The Chesterfields around the UK in the late 1980s when living in London. Seiko's unique take on songwriting, coupled with a love of Captain Beefheart, Gang Of Four, Devo and early UK prog rock has now manifested itself in this wonderful limited edition 7 inch single! Seiko is joined on the record by multi-instrumentalist Philip Collings for three highly original songs, Mimiko, Richard Sinclair, and Dear Mr. David Shrigley. Produced and engineered by Ben Turner at Axe & Trap Studio in Wells, Somerset, whilst observed by Simon Barber (The Chesterfields). Limited to 500 copies on yellow vinyl.
PUNK/HARDCORE
Radio Birdman
Live At Paddington Town Hall 12th Dec. 1977 (2lp)
Repress of 1000 copies! This 19 track double LP is a recut of the 2014 release of a live concert recorded at Paddington Town Hall (Sydney Australia) in December 1977. Recorded just prior to the band's departure for the UK to promote the Sire release of their 'Radios Appear' album, this recording was mixed from 16 track master tapes that had languished forgotten for decades. It is a totally wild and raw record that captures the band's true primal energy perhaps in a way that other recordings haven't. The songs represent a wide selection of their originals along with covers of Blue Oyster Cult, MC5 and Bo Diddley.

Vedan Kolod
Birds
Their weightless flight fascinates us. Their song enlivens the world around us. Their beauty, their fragility and their hidden strength have inspired people for thousands of years. Birds! They accompany people from birth to death. Birds can be seen in ancient rock paintings and modern art alike. And, of course, birdsong appears in the folk songs of people all over the world! The feathered creatures play a crucial role on 'Birds', the album by Vedan Kolod. Whether it is a traditional or original composition, each of the eight songs on 'Birds' have birds as the main topic. In some songs, the image of a bird has deep symbolism, while in others it is an allegory for our modern lives and ever-changing circumstances.
Nurse With Wound
Chance Meeting... (black)
...ON A DISSECTING TABLE OF A SEWING MACHINE AND AN UMBRELLA' - This is the long-awaited vinyl reissue of the timeless Nurse With Wound debut release from 1979. Described by Sounds at the time as a record that "makes The Faust Tapes sound like Carousel," nothing has changed to alter this view over the last 30 years, and to say that this work is the "Sgt. Pepper of the avant-garde" would not be hyperbole. Members include: John Fothergill (synthesizer, guitar, keyboards, wind), Heman (synthesizer, guitar, keyboards, wind), Nicky Rogers (guitar), and Steve Stapleton (synthesizer, flute, guitar, keyboards). The album's equally unusual title is a quote from the surreal, poetic novel 'Les Chants de Maldoror' by Uruguayan-born French author Isidore-Lucien Ducasse, written under the pseudonym Comte de Lautréamont. It has been included in the "100 Records That Set the World on Fire (While No One Was Listening)" by The Wire in 1998, and is one of the records that have had a lasting impact on avant-garde, experimental and psychedelic music. It was on this record that the famous "NWW list" appeared for the first time, featuring dozens of names of musicians and groups who had influenced Nurse With Wound - a list that now serves as a treasure map for many collectors of the genre and fans of outsider music. It's been replicated here in the innersleeve of the gatefold. Comes on black vinyl in "silver edition" gatefold sleeve.
Mkb Fraction Provisoire
Feu!
MKB Fraction Provisoire (Messageros Killers Boy(s)) is the variable-geometry musical project of filmmaker and writer F.J. Ossang, founded in 1980 to feed a need for creativity fueled by the punk movement and the industrial scene. The band's music is characterized by a blend of punk rock, blues, and avant-garde influences, with Ossang's poetic lyrics often addressing themes of alienation, decadence, and despair. After a self-released EP in 1981, 'Provenance France,' MKB released their first LP, 'Terminal Toxique,' the following year. Over the years, the group went on to release a dozen albums, including several for the Bondage label. Its musical output is inseparable from the rest of the projects of its leader, a tireless activist in constant rebellion against the "prêt-à-penser." "This record was invented in ten days. When Nagi Baz offered to let us use his studio for a week, we had just finished recording 'Doctor Chance 93.' The plan was immediately to pay a sort of tribute to my writer friend Jean-François Charpin (1957-1987), an accomplice of the Sex Pistols, who had initiated the Chalet du Lac concert in September 1976, before creating the excellent and fleeting avant-garde magazine Grabuge in 1978 (two issues published). We spent a whole weekend with Jack Belsen laying the foundations of six tracks from machine matrices, looping rhythms, while I wrote at full speed on the typewriter. On Monday I finished formatting the raw lyrics while Belsen recorded the rhythms. The next day, it was my turn to record the vocals as one - then Jac Berrocal and Little Drake played their instrumental parts. Two days of mixing later, it was finished. The following monday, Nagi Baz left his record label. after thirty years, the reissue of 'Feu!' (augmented by 'Génotype Du Messagero Killer Boy,' recorded just before I left for Chile in 1994) turns out to be a double eulogy for J.F. Charpin, but also for Jack Belsen, who was abruptly snatched from life for one awful season, between late spring 2018 and his death on 7 December the following year." (F.J. Ossang). MKB has been highly regarded in the French underground music scene and has gained a cult following over the years. They are often associated with the No Wave and post-punk movements, and their music has been praised for its raw energy and unconventional sound.

Cassius King
Field Trip
Prolific riff master Dan Lorenzo (most recently from Vessel Of Light), has used the name Cassius King several times over the years, as the title of a solo album and to put out many covers. But 2021 sees the release of a full length debut of original songs called 'Field Trip.' Mr. Lorenzo himself handles the guitars. Jason McMaster (Dangerous Toys, Watch Tower) tackles vocal duties. Dan's band mates from Vessel Of Light help out as well; Jimmy Schulman (also from another one of Dan's bands Hades) is on bass and Ron Lipnicki (another Hades alumni) returns to bash the drum kit.

JAZZ/AVANTGARDE
Sakata/o'rourke/rasmussen/corsano
Live At Superdeluxe Volume 1
Akira Sakata - saxophone, voice, Jim O'Rourke - guitar, Mette Rasmussen - saxophone, Chris Corsano - drums. From the outset this ad hoc quartet hit the gas, launching into a frenzied, high-octane set with alto saxophonist Rasmussen engaging in a furious tightrope-walk of upper register screams while O'Rourke unspools some of the most gnarly guitar noise. The entire recording is a testament to refined listening. Even at the most scorching peaks each player is deftly attuned to one another's sonic projections. Bridging generations, continents, and individual aesthetics, Rasmussen, Corsano, Sakata, and O'Rourke find common cause, convening for an evening of galvanic sound that's simultaneously exhilarating and spiritual
Lopez Ruiz, Jorge
Coraje Buenos Aires
The missing link in Argentina's jazz history finally sees the light. 'Coraje Buenos Aires' was recorded in 1973, conceived as a follow-up to the historic 'Bronca Buenos Aires' (1971). More explicitly than its predecessor, the texts in 'Coraje' denounced the atrocities of the military junta that ruled the country, and the album was inevitably censored before being released. The tapes, thought to have been burnt and forever lost, were recently discovered in the archive of the late Jorge López Ruiz, allowing us to finally listen to 'Coraje' fifty years after being recorded. As usual, Jorge López Ruiz recruited some of the best musicians around to play with him, this time pianist Santiago Giacobbe, drummer Pocho Lapouble and guitarist Ricardo Lew (all three members of Quinteplus at that time), as well as Hugo Pierre and Jaime Prats on alto and tenor sax respectively. Mastered from the original tapes by Pablo López Ruiz. Includes foldout sheet with bilingual notes by author José Tcherkaski and an English translation of the album's song texts.
Jordan, Clifford
Beyond Paradiso 1969
Clifford Jordan was actually supposed to perform at Paradiso on September 10, 1969, but at that time the stage was facing problems and closed for a month. He diverts to VARA studio 7 in Hilversum with pianist Cees Slinger, bassist Ruud Jacobs, drummer Han Bennink and percussionist Steve Boston. Three of the four pieces Jordan puts on the lectern he recorded in early 1969 for the Strata-East label under the album title 'In The World.'

Consisting of 10 tracks from the '70s, this compilation is rich with Benyamin Suaeb's eccentric vocals with tongue-in-cheek lyrics and walled with funk and psychedelic sounds. Law, Forest
Zero
Forest Law's debut album, 'Zero,' is a vibrant journey blending Balearic funk with urban Tropicalia, showcasing his adept guitar playing, old-school sampling, and UK-styled beats alongside his mellow yet sombre vocals. Recorded across eclectic locations from Icelandic fish net factories to a garden shed in Romford, this innovative release marks a new chapter for the multi-instrumentalist producer. Released in collaboration with the UK home for jazz and electronic sounds, Total Refreshment Centre, 'Zero' is Forest Law's first release since his debut EP on Brownswood Recordings four years ago, marking a new and exciting chapter for the up-and-coming talent. Crafted over seven years, 'Zero' is deeply influenced by Law's experiences, from immersive stays in Porto where he delved into Portuguese music to an artist residency in a remote Icelandic fishing village. The album was finished, and recorded in his garden shed in Romford, East London. It's a beautiful juxtaposition about a boy from Essex, who fell in love with international music, discovered the world, and then produced a musical treatise about his adventures from his shed.

Mighty Cavaliers
Mapendo
"The 'Mapendo' album of the Mighty Cavaliers, up to today, has been shrouded in mystery. Why is that, you can find nearly nothing about this album and the band. The only song which is maybe well known in the collectors scene is 'Dunia Ina Mambo' from their first release out of 1976. So it was more or less a surprise to get hy Hands on the original in January 2023 directly from Kenya. I've never seen such a hypnotically good cover and what do could I expect from the record? Cleaned the record from all the dirt and put it on the player. That has to be the first Want Some release! There is no other way. Up from the first song till the last it is an outstanding record. So many influences and power came out of the speakers. Great guitar work, funky, bluesy notes in some songs and typically African roots. We were blown away. From that point I started working on that album. Our mission is to tell the story of the band and spread these great tunes into the world. I hired Michiel van Oosterhout, a journalist who is living in Uganda, who wrote a book about Ugandan music and has good connections into the east African music scene. He began digging deep, made calls, wrote e-mails etc. and at the end he wrote the true story about the The Mighty Cavaliers which you can find in the gatefold." ~Want Some Records. This album is dedicated to the musicians Bonnie Wanda, Rashid Salim, Vuli Yeni, Juma Waweru Njuguna and Athmani 'Guitar Boy.'
