Botanicals (black)
'Botanicals' is the debut solo LP album by Ren Water, singer of one of Greece's finest psych acts, Echo Train. 'Botanicals' came in the flow of things, as a need to pay homage to everything that psychedelically colored Ren's life until now. Almost two years in the making, drawing inspiration from the metaphors and dreams surrounding her, 'Botanicals' is more than a set of songs, it is a 'deposit of soul'. Each song is like a combination of herbs that leads the soul to dimensions and stories that have sometimes exalted it and sometimes degenerated it. Throughout the 8 songs of the album, Ren is bringing out the innermost of her psyche. There is Light, Darkness, Love, Despair, Hope, Lust, and Passion, and all these 'psych elements' harmonically coexist, creating various emotions. All lyrics are by Ren. Also, the music is written by Ren. An important role in the making of 'Botanicals' is the contribution of two Echo Train members - Greggy K and drummer Gregorio - along with Stratos Diamantis, they helped Ren materialize (or externalize if you prefer) the psychedelic microcosm of her mind. They all together wove a colorful cerebral mantle, a multi-dimensional mantle that covers a diversity of styles, genres, and sub-genres. Though, is very hard to describe the music of 'Botanicals.' To get an idea, just imagine a lost Pink Floyd melody from the early '70s that got lost in times and went to the middle ages (medieval) then to Central Europe of the great classics (waltz), and after that to ancient Greece, then to the great late '60s British prog era, returning to present, totally mutated! A fusion of sounds indeed! There's psychedelic rock, space rock, progressive rock, art rock, and even some medieval poppy dream-a-delia. It gives you the feel that you are inside Hieronymus Bosch's 'The Garden Of Earthly Delights.' The gates of the garden are widely open, feel free to enter and travel with your mind, and always remember love makes the flowers grow. Limited to 200 copies on black vinyl.

'FORTY SUMMERS OF LUST, LOVE, HEARTBREAK AND MADNESS' - To celebrate the 40th Anniversary of The Green Pajamas, Sound-Effect Records releases an expansive album, 'Just To This,' a 2-LP compilation of tracks never before released on vinyl or CD, spanning the band's 40 years of making extraordinary music. Curated by Jeff Kelly and sequenced chronologically, the collection features 23 tracks, starting with a live version of 'Thinking Only Of You' from 1984, and ending with the finale, 'Something About The Light,' which Jeff and Joe Ross started recording - with their original 'Summer Of Lust' aesthetic very much in mind! - in November of 2023 and finished early 2024. Of the 23 songs heard here, 10 have never been released in any format and 11 were previously only available as digital downloads. Tom Dyer has mastered these songs for LP, now sounding better than ever before, bringing this collection of recordings from diverse sound sources - including cassette tapes from the 1980's - together into a cohesive and wonderfully entertaining album. Each song's recording history is detailed on the record's two full-color inner sleeves, which also feature scores of never-before published photographs. There are highlights a-plenty in this set approaching near 100 minutes of music: A blistering live version of 'Kim The Waitress' from 1994; Jeff's original demos for the songs 'Ghosts Of Love' and 'Tess;' a swift run-through of 'She's Still Bewitching Me,' live at Terrastock 4 in 2000; Jeff's cover of the Kinks' 'A Long Way From Home,' previously only available on a 2006 Ray Davies tribute CD and a beautiful, early take of 'Princess Misa' from 2022. After 4 singles, Dikke Dennis & de Rockers now deliver a full-fledged LP. And to continue speaking in superhero comics language, an extra thick release and a very special one at that. Because instead of going back into the studio, the band has decided to release a live album. That is quite unique, The Outsiders and the Doppelgängers went before Dikke, but not many bands in the Netherlands have done this. And where does the raw punk rock'n'roll of Dikke Dennis & de Rockers sounds the best? On stage! 'Hardhout' was recorded in cultural park De Hout in Alkmaar (NL) and initially the idea was to take something off it for a single. When the band checked the recordings they knew for sure, this will be the debut album. This is everything they stand for. 'Hardhout' is what you can expect from Dikke Dennis & de Rockers. A raw, unpolished, honest punk rock'n'roll show. No bells and whistles, just turn up the amplifiers and have a party. No overdubs, what you see is what you get. Just like Dennis himself. Of course all previously released singles are on it, but in a different version supplemented with audience favorites such as 'Schoppenaas' and 'Wild Man' and Dikke Dennis & de Rockers originals such as the instrumental almost N.W.O.B.H.M. sounding 'Trekhaak,' 'Rijkdom' and 'Alles Of Niets'. 18 hits in total! The album was produced by Peter van Elderen and guitarist Guido Bruin who has since been succeeded by Diamond Jim. The artwork was again provided by bassist Sicco Roukema and Bas van der Schaaf. Living Eyes (remix Version)
'Living Eyes' was recorded at Rockfield Studios in Wales during a break in the band's 1978 tour of Britain and Europe. Relations between members were falling apart and Sire had dropped the band prior to the start of recording. Their breakup soon followed. Initial releases of the album were cut from a tape dub of trial mixes as the band never received an official master. In 1994 the original tapes were retrieved from Rockfield and remixed in Australia for a CD only release. This is the first time the remix version has been released on vinyl. It has been remastered and cut to lacquer. Same front cover as the original though the back has been altered. The inner sleeve contains liner notes explaining the genesis of the remix.

Goodbye Monsters
Roberto Musci, born in Milan in 1956, studied guitar, music and electronic instruments. From 1974 to 1985 he traveled the world studying African, Indian, Arabic and Oriental music, recording ethnic music "in the field," studying and collecting ethnic musical instruments from all over the world. His self-produced debut album, 'The Loa Of Music,' is a seminal work of staggering originality and extraordinary beauty in which field recordings, musique concrète, electronics, synthesis and instrumentation are interwoven, drawing on the countless musics from around the world that he has recorded. The subsequent 'Water Messages On Desert Sand,' composed with Giovanni Venosta, was nominated for a Grammy in the UK in 1987. In the 1980s and 1990s he broadcast ethnic and electronic-experimental music from Rai and Radio Popolare radio stations. He has also composed and played music for videos, commercials, dance, poetry, theater, composed soundtracks and accompanied silent films live. From 1980 to the present, he has played with many Italian and European musicians: Giovanni Venosta, Claudio Gabbiani, Walter Prati, Giorgio Magnanensi, Massimo Cavallaro, Massimo Mariani, Moni Ovadia, Roberto Zorzi, Chris Cutler, Jon Rose David Moss, Steve Piccolo, Elliott Sharp, Keith Tippett and the Third Ear Band. The theme of travel, ethnicities and mysticism are a pivotal point in this new album of his as well, demonstrating once again how music needs absolutely no sharp lines of demarcation. The music is one. It goes from the search for deep meanings in a time spent in a Hindu monastery (Ashram) listening to mantras and studying Buddhist philosophy (The Principle Of Things) to space explorations and human settlements on the Moon or Mars wondering how man will live and what he will bring to the new worlds imagining that Sufism, an Islamic mystical religion, will accompany him in the discovery of new worlds (Derviches On Mars). In 'Goodbye Monsters,' harmony and peace are sought. An inspired Roberto Musci is increasingly aware of his hypnotic and visionary language. Limited edition of 300 numbered copies on white vinyl.

One of the most unique and stand-out noise comps of the '90s - the ultimate Japanoise collection, originally released in 1992 on the cult Les Disques Du Soleil label on CD-only, and now impossible to find. Remastered and presented here on deluxe black 2LP in matt-laminate gatefold sleeve (first time on vinyl), all with new artwork. A forest isn't something normally associated with noise; it brings to mind silence and solitude. However, the ominous cover art here - and the artists within - bring to mind the notorious suicide forest Aokigahara. Despite all tracks falling into the Japanoise genre, the tracks are very diverse, yet every track is so distinct it could only be by that artist. A classic compilation that emanated out of Osaka, 'Noise Forest' brings together a powerhouse of early '90s Japanese noise stalwarts: Merzbow, C.C.C.C., Solmania, Dislocation, Monde Bruits, Masonna, Violent Onsen Geisha, and Incapacitants.

The brainwave synchronizer can produce theta waves that, when listened to with stereo headphones, will put the listener into any desired state of depression, meditation and sometimes sinister colored visions, visions of death, solitude, sorrow, grey paranoid. Because of the nature of this function it only works on stereo waveform data and to be effective it must be listened to with stereo headphones. The brainwave function spatially locates the audio left and right in a circular pattern overtime, in order to spatially encode the signal, either the left and right channels delayed so that sounds will appear at each ear at different times, tricking the brain into thinking they are coming from either side. When this is done at frequencies of 3hz and above the brain will start synchronizing at the same frequency increasing its output of theta frequencies. This album was originally released on 15th January 2001 by Scarlet Records.

Two tracks from Analog Africa’s acclaimed compilation 'Super Disco Pirata' were featured on Cerys Matthews’ BBC Radio 6 show on November 10th. The show opened with “Venus” by Los Pakines, setting the tone with infectious rhythms. Later, at the 1:46:15 mark, Eduardo Zurita’s 'La 3A De Los Toquecitos' kept the energy high. The show, titled 'A Joyous Exploration with Cephas Azariah,' celebrated these rare, vibrant sounds from the 'Super Disco Pirata' collection, showcasing the dynamic range of Latin American disco and funk.
