Hail Darkness
Death Divine
AI creation Hail Darkness sounds like mix of several bands, Jefferson Airplane, Black Sabbath and T.Rex to name a few, with their occult musings being highlighted in Jez's lyrics and her vocal style, which have drawn comparisons to Grace Slick and in parts, Sandy Denny from Fairport Convention. As debut albums go,this isonehell ofan entranceinto the growing field of doom and occult-based sounds that are currently available and we're certain that this will end up on many people's album ofthe year lists.
Dead Meadow
Voyager To Voyager (black)
Dead Meadows' highly anticipated tenth studio album 'Voyager To Voyager' marks a defining moment in their illustrious 26-year journey. Revered as a pioneering force in the heavy psychedelic rock scene since their formation in the late '90s, the band delivers not only their most emotionally charged and sonically expansive album to date but also a powerful tribute to their brother, late bassist Steve Kille, whose battle against cancer and untimely passing in early 2024 has made it the poignant end of a chapter in the band's history.

Heavy Cruiser
Heavy Cruiser
Psychedelic hard-rock and heavy blues with loud fuzzed-out guitars, keyboards and inventive studio production/effects by this band led by the great Neil Merryweather and featuring the Mama Lion musicians. This is their first album, originally released on Artie Ripp's Family Productions label in 1972. The Heavy Cruiser project was conceived during the studio sessions for Mama Lion, the band led by Neil Merryweather and Lynn Carey. Artie Ripp always allowed Neil to experiment/jam in the studio and to record any cool ideas and songs he may come up with. Thanks to that creative freedom, Heavy Cruiser was born during Mama Lion jamming sessions. The initial idea was to operate both bands simultaneously with Lynn taking the backseat for Heavy Cruiser but providing vocals and helping with songwriting. Powerful cover versions of rock classics like 'C'mon Everybody' or 'Louie Louie' show the band having lot of fun in the studio and there was also room for more experimental sounds like 'Miracles Of Pure Device.' First official vinyl reissue. Original artwork in hard cardboard sleeve + obi. Sourced from the original master tapes. Includes insert with liner notes and photos plus download card.
Heavy Cruiser
Lucky Dog
Inventive and superbly produced hard-rock with psychedelic, blues and heavy-prog/proto-metal touches by this studio side-project of Mama Lion. Loud fuzz guitars, heavy keyboards (by James Newton Howard!), screaming vocals... Featuring the great Neil Merryweather and Lynn Carey and the Mama Lion musicians. This is their second album, originally released on Artie Ripp's Family Productions label in 1973. First official vinyl reissue. Original artwork in hard cardboard sleeve + obi. Sourced from the original master tapes. Includes insert with liner notes and photos plus download card.
Turquoise
The Return Of Captain Speed
Originally known as Captain Speed, Turquoise was a psychedelic rock band from Southern California who were managed by pioneering Tri-counties concert promoter Jim Salzer, who also operated the legendary Arcade Record Shop. Their sound was 100% psychedelic with swirling baroque organ, trippy guitar fills and driving percussion, all topped off by front man and Jim Morrison's lookalike Tim Pearson's lysergic lyrics. Turquoise shared stage with big names like Grateful Dead, The Doors, Jefferson Airplane, Country Joe & the Fish, The Seeds, The Strawberry Alarm Clock, Jimi Hendrix, and many others. During 1967-68, they recorded two 45s for Jim Salzer's Arcade label and they also laid down material for a planned LP that was never released... until now. RIYL: Doors, Strawberry Alarm Clock, Country Joe & The Fish, Love, Iron Butterfly... Featuring keyboard player Bill Payne, who later went on be a founding member of Little Feat. Remastered from the original master tapes by Alec Palao. Including their two rare 45s plus eight previously unreleased tracks, 1967-68. Includes insert with liner notes by Gray Newell (Ugly Things/Shindig!) and rare photos/memorabilia plus download card.
Wildwood
Plastic People
Repressed! Raw, in-your-face hard psychedelia with plenty of Vox and Hammond organ, hard guitar and powerful vocals courtesy of Wildwood. Formed in the late '60s in Stockton, California, this powerful outfit rubbed shoulders with groups like Country Weather, Steve Miller Band or Grateful Dead and played at legendary venues such as the Fillmore and the Matrix. Featuring tracks from their two rare 45s for the Magnum label (including the punk-a-delic classic 'Plastic People') plus a selection of their fabulous, not released at the time studio cuts from 1968-1970, recorded at Max Weiss' Fantasy Studios and originally unearthed by Frantic Records in 2012 for their 2CD Wildwood compilation. RIYL: Public Nuisance, The Doors, Music Machine, Steppenwolf, Hunger, Jungle... Hard cardboard sleeve. Includes insert with rare photos and liner notes by Alec Palao and download card.
GARAGE/BEAT/SURF/ROCK’N’ROLL
Childish, Billy -& The Chatham Singers-
Step Out!
Wild Billy Childish has been recording and performing since the 1977 punk explosion. The Pop Rivets, Thee Milkshakes, The Headcoats and The Buff Medways being just a few outfits that Billy has run into the ground. But all that is just a hobby gone out of control - his day job is being an internationally exhibited artist, writer and vermin poet. Specialising in Chicago style blues, The Chatham Singers have released five albums since 2005, via Hangman Records and Damaged Goods, and over a dozen 7" singles, some rarer than others, some worse than others. The Chatham Singers are Billy Childish on vocals/guitar, Juju on vocals/bass, Wolf Howard on drums/percussion and 'Bludy' Jim Riley on harp. Here we have a full long player, which includes some of the songs from records only available as limited 45's, free at their sell-out shows. some of them recorded by The Hangman Field Recording Unit, and others at Bludy Jim's Ranscombe shack. Limited to 500 copies.
Childish, Billy -& The Chatham Singers-
Step Out (alt)/upside Mine
This top notch 7 inch 45 contains two recordings, recorded at Jim Riley's Ranscombe Studios, an alt version of 'Step Out,' with Juju taking lead vocals and 'Upside Mine,' a favourite at the gigs. Limited to 500 copies.
Doctor Explosion
Ves-t'en Si Us Plau/perdo L'esma
Doctor Explosión, leading Spanish '60s garage-punk act since the mid-'90s, is back with a surprise. A remake of one of the most remarkable early tracks of the band, 'Baby Please Go' ('Ves-te'n Si Us Plau'), and a cover of James Brown 'I'll Go Crazy' ('Perdo L'Esma') the way Catalan '60s band Eurogrup adapted in the mid-'60s, and both tracks sung in perfect Catalan language - well, Barcelona's accent, that's fine... We are very pleased to join the band's own label Circo Perrotti for this co-produced 45, like old friends meeting again after ages! Comes in a great cover artwork copying the original 'Eurogrup' 7", and it's limited to 500 numbered copies.
POP/ROCK/WAVE/NOISE
Garfields Birthday
Next Stop Mars
"The brothers Simon and Shane Felton are back with a shiny new power pop album with flair, sentimentality and charm and twelve new songs about being somebody else just for one day (my favourite from the album, entitled 'I Want to Be You' - definitely a 'hit' in another time), jealousy, obsession, alien abduction, the ageing process (about seizing the day and waving goodbye and saying hello on 'Read All About It'), and depression ('The Beautiful Room Is Empty' with nice vocal harmonies and shimmering guitars). The music is guitar, bass and drums based with nice little touches such as the synth on 'Broken Telephone,' while 'Raspberry Juice' introduces a wisp of psychedelia into the mix. Nostalgic, engaging music that makes you yearn for 'the old days'." (Review from Dimensions in Sound and Space).
Wilson, Steve
Songs From The Summerhouse
This is a collection of songs written and devised in the summerhouse at the back of Steve's garden. It is drawn from various projects including compositions for a dance video, music developed from an initial idea sent by a friend and even something written for Steve's Mum for Mother's Day! He then enlisted the talents of some more musical friends (such as Robbie McIntosh from The Pretenders and Paul McCartney fame) and the project was complete. It makes for an eclectic and entertaining mix of different styles, which we hope you will enjoy listening to!
Coeur A L'index
Adieu Minette
In January 2023 out of nowhere came a perfectly formed and amazing four track demo from Brussels' Coeur A L'Index. Now they follow it up with an 8 track album for La Vida Es Un Mus. Coeur A L'Index deal in a sound that will make your knees weak and heart melt from the very first note to the last. Fragile pop songs for people who love C86 as much as they love power pop and punk, but who also have a soft spot for French Chanson from the '60s onwards. An instant sugar rush with a bubblegum flavour of a band bought up on a diet of Girls At Our Best, Dolly Mixture and Chin Chin but also Elli et Jacno, Louise Ferron or Renaud from who they lifted their album title. Part of a new wave of bands like Alvilda and Ribbon Stage their debut LP has bounce, it's upbeat and it's the perfect calling card.
PUNK/HARDCORE
Chain Cult
Harm Reduction
After a handful of EPs and a long player, Athens' Chain Cult are back, and bring more post-punk angst. Their second album continues the ideas of their previous releases, but in a much more thoughtful and crafted manner. Indeed, the production has stepped up and the result is an album that surpasses any of their previous work. A precise rhythm section overlaid by a dreamy soundscape of cleverly interwoven guitar work frames catchy anthems which depict an inner anguish or the collateral damage we all suffer from our capitalist hellscape, or both. Imagine listening to The Chameleons or The Sound but you wished for a harder edge, more direct, more straight, and a more punk take on things. Then 'Harm Reduction' is what you need. An album to be listened to over and over; an apt accompaniment to watching the world burn.
Vomit Scraper
Slaughter Of Millions
14 track debut album by Dutch "Scando-core"/"UK82" band Vomit Scraper. For fans of Anti-Cimex, Shitlickers, Totalitär, G.B.H. or Discharge. Serious D-Beat massacre from Rotterdam!
Straw Man Army
Earthworks
NYC duo Straw Man Army return with their third LP, 'Earthworks,' to complete a trilogy of records begun with 2020's 'Age Of Exile,' and 2022's 'SOS.' Whereas 'Age Of Exile' dealt with the haunted landscapes of colonial history in the Americas, and 'SOS' gave voice to a crisis of the present moment, like a prayer in bewildering times, 2024's 'Earthworks' signals the band's attempt to close this trilogy by turning their gaze towards the future, where paradox, complexity and contradiction spiral in ascendance to an agonizing pitch. While continuing to develop their own style of anarcho-punk, 'Earthworks' finds the band pulling once again from jazz and ambient influences, expanded krautrock rhythms, and post-rock experiments, with a stronger emphasis on melodic vocals and varied song structures than on previous offerings. Taking cues from the wistful anti-war harmonies of The Byrds and the angry melodies of Zounds, tracks like 'Turn The Wheel' and 'Second Nature' mark new territory for a group whose messages and methods of experimentation have merged to form a singular sound equally at home on All The Madmen Records or in the spiritual legacy of ESP Disk. 'Earthworks' is an album that holds and subverts many contradictions - juggling the weight of melancholy, grief, guilt, impunity, and the yearning for clarity against the backdrop of boiling wrath; the wrath of nature, the occupied, the dispossessed, and of the mind against itself. To quote the track 'Spiral' - "Is this all that's left for us these days? / Apathy and rage?" - Straw Man Army offers this record as a companion to our frustration, our sickness, our despair, and a lifeline for our fugitive attention in the struggle for peace.
Second Death
Second Death
Second Death debut with a 9 track MLP. Following the steps of London bands No and Permission from which the band shares half its members with additions from local bands Subdued and Last Affront. Pulling similar musical threads as their previous groups, their distinctive dissonant brand of hardcore is dense and claustrophobic, like there are too many notes crammed into too small a space, riffs poking out at odd, uncomfortable angles like the corners of a hand-me-down bureau in a cramped London bedsit. Second Death's manic rhythms are littered with unexpected accents that disrupt any slide into safety, comfort, or convention, and while moments in 'Sycophant' or 'Caving' threaten to break into a mosh, there's invariably an oddly timed accent that derails the choreography like a feral tweaker wandering into the pit. Ben from Last Affront handles vocals, and their voice and lyrics reflect the musics sense of tortured isolation: short, clipped lines from a nerve rubbed raw, torn between fighting and fleeing, sparks of anguish flying in the direction of everyone and no one in particular. Life isn't easy, and neither is Second Death's music, but there's poetry to how these nine tracks charge fitfully toward a resolution that never comes, a resonant echo of lifes self-perpetuating, ever-escalating cycles of anxiety and torment. Includes A2 poster and A4 lyric sheet.
Malignant Order
This Is Mankind?
Crashing razor sharp velocity veering between the endearing tectonics of primo era Finnish HC and the chaos and noise of early Japanese HC, Malignant order sound like faded white paint on the back of a cracked leather jacket slowly scraping away against the coarse concrete of some venue lost in the time and space of some aggregate European city. Featuring the vocal debut of the talismanic Billy Trick (Stingray), Malignant Order delivers a howling wail into the void which sit on top of perfect drumming, guitar playing that equally smirks and snarls, and a blasting low end which ensures your speakers will crackle for months to come. Not once do these five songs falter into a cartoonish genre trope. Instead they kick blaring sounds which wouldn't have been out of place on 'Welcome To 1984' flying through the doors of what we know about making a racket in 2024. For fans of The Execute, Kohu-63, Framtid, Terveet Kädet, Ataque Frontal, and other music for uplifting gourmandizers. (Jonah Falco).
Exploited
Totally Exploited
One of the most popular and notorious of all British hardcore acts, the Exploited were formed on a dire Edinburgh council estate in 1978 by singer Terry Buchan and guitarist Stevie Ross, although Buchan's brother Wattie would soon become leader and the lineup seldom stayed stable. Influenced by the Pistols, they built their large working class and skinhead following through an aggressive, fast-paced, and uncensored hardcore style. Gathering singles from their street punk days and the best tracks from their first three albums, 'Totally Exploited' was the band's first compilation and it remains the best by far. Essential Exploited! Comes on coloured vinyl.

Previte Chandler
Previte Chandler (black)
'Previte Chandler' is a conversation between two opposing approaches toward the same goal: reaching a natural autonomy. Previte employs an expanded conception of the modern drum set, a circularity that suggests rather than shows, using the powerful orchestrational might of the drum set to create form and meaning. Chandler uses his guitar as a tone generator (there are no synthesizers) to create "Sound Ribbons" - sonic fabrics made in real time that create a way of deconstructing and then enveloping and weaving together any series of individual pieces of music or film. These two musicians, who circled each other for years in the New York City music scene, are now turning the deep chasm between them into a bridge connecting the natural and the supernatural, the audible and the spiritual.

Asking For The Truth (but Praying For A Lie)
Soul4Real returns to the south with a selection of eleven songs from Malaco, Muscle Shoals Sound Studios and Alarm Records. There is no doubt that in the 1970s and 1980s, Malaco in Mississippi and Muscle Shoals Sound in Alabama were both highly significant in defining the southern soul sound. Malaco's Studio had opened in 1967, while Muscle Shoals Sound Studio opened its doors for business in 1969, when four musicians left nearby Fame Studios to go it alone. Alarm Records, meanwhile, based in Shreveport, Louisiana, provides us with four of the tracks on this album. Independent producers and major record companies sent their artists south to record, taking advantage of both Malaco and Muscle Shoals Sound's talented array of musicians, writers and producers. Muscle Shoals Sound, in particular, started to receive artists from Atlantic Records from the get-go; R.B. Greaves, Baby Washington, Sam & Dave and Solomon Burke led the way, along with Scotland's Lulu. The first relesase on their own record label was the timeless 'It Hurts So Good' by Katie Love. Meanwhile, Stax (amongst others) sent some of their artists to record at both studios, and Malaco would also lease some of its own productions out to Atlantic. Alarm Records was a smaller set-up which also produced some wonderful records. This album opens with the only female singer featured - Dorothy Moore. Her exquisite 'Girl Overboard' has been justifiably popular on the soul scene for decades. The other ten tracks showcase an array of fine male singers, most of whom (Bobby Bland and King Floyd aside), sadly and perhaps unjustly, never really made the big time. It is the first showing on vinyl for three of the tracks here (previously having only been issued on CD), and Jimmy Jules' reading of 'Having A Little Talk With Love' has never appeared anywhere before. As always, sit back and savour the music! (Steve Guarnori).

Waiting For Your Return Part I
'A SHIDAIQU ANTHOLOGY 1927-1952, PT. 1' - Shidaiqu literally means "songs of the era", a term used to describe a hybrid musical genre that first began permeating through the cosmopolitan city of Shanghai in the late 1920's. Blending western pop, jazz, blues and Hollywood-inspired film soundtracks with traditional Chinese elements, the shidaiqu represented a musical and cultural merging that would go on to shape a golden age of Chinese popular song and film in the pre-communism interwar period. 'Waiting For Your Return' brings together a wide collection of recordings for an anthological overview of the style.

SIMON POSFORD & RAJA RAM – Improvisations for Piano & Flute (LP, Twisted)
“`Improvisations For Piano & Flute' is, as the title suggests, a series of fully improvised compositions by the two legendary musicians. WHITE SHAPE - Through the Lupine (LP-CD, Up In Her Room / Little Cloud)

“The band siphon from the still of Space Ritual, dip into the delirium of Ummagumma and push forth the prog agenda in 2024. There are quite a few who find the free ripple of jam these days, but Groop are doing it with a bit more bile and bone in their teeth.” (Raven Sings The Blues)
DANTALIAN'S CHARIOT - Chariot Rising (LP, Guerssen)
“This new pressing by Guerssen features the recordings in remastered mono with nice detail and strong bass and only a bit of occasional sibilance to disrupt the sound.” (Psychobabble200)
