Special double-LP release on 180-gram blue vinyl. Limited edition of 500 copies. Don Van Vliet & The Magic Band, recorded live at the Bickershaw Festival, 1972! This show was described by Joe Strummer (The Clash), who sat in the mud as an audience member and avidly watched this late night performance, as "the best live concert I have ever seen". It's a "warts and all" recording but probably one of the best performances the 'Spotlight Kid'-era band made in the UK. Don makes some great comments between the songs too. The Band consisted of Captain Beefheart a.k.a. Don Van Vliet (vocals, sax, harmonica), Rockette Morton/Mark Boston (bass guitar, guitar), Orjon-Audi Hon/Roy Estrada (bass guitar), Zoot Horn Rollo/Bill Harkleroad (guitar, slide guitar), Winged Eel Fingerling/Elliot Ingber (guitar, slide guitar) and Ed Marimba/Art Tripp (drums, percussion).
