Toria & The Inconsistents
The Demo Tapes
Toria & The Inconsistents is where poetry and post-punk meet. Toria Garbutt is a spoken word artist, also known as a 'punk poet' from Knottingley - a former mining town in West Yorkshire. Toria examines everyday life with razor-sharp precision; raw and unpolished, pure, honest and without frills. She tours regularly with Dr. John Cooper Clarke and also performs solo at various venues in the UK. She is a regular guest and sings her poetry on BBC Radio 6 Music and BBC Radio 4. Barry Snaith is a writer, sound composer, guitarist and producer from Manchester, UK. He played in many bands from the eighties to the present with the very best artists from the alternative scene. He recorded with Chrissie Hynde and toured with the Ramones. Barry is now known for various projects and bands such as The Inconsistent Jukebox (aka TIJ), the gothic-electronica duo M1NK and for the soundscapes created for various art projects such as 'Methodology Volume 1.' Here Snaith is present as a composer and performer as part of The Inconsistents. "Here you can listen to the first impressions of Toria & The Inconsistents. The single is called 'The Demo Tapes' because it is still in a rough and unpolished state. Songs without compromise. You won't find anything better than this nowadays. Post-punk at its best!" ~Johan Buurke/Seja Records.
