'Scaling Triangles' is a curious early ' 80s DIY oddity, serving up a three-way split between experimental synth-punk outfit Petticoats, the equally motorik coldwave post-punk of Sub Verse and the Tangerine Dream indebted synth-prog of Sole Sister. All female groups, all overlooked and largely forgotten to time, this 1981 material captures the sonic and creative expansion that saw the parameters of genres being torn down almost as quickly as they were being established during those formative years; providing a uniquely raw, underground, tangible piece of electronic/post-punk fusion and fearlessness.
