Spanning 13 tracks, spread over two discs, the Stefan Schultze Large Ensemble pays tribute to American composer Morton Subotnick. Using the modular synthesizer named after instrument maker and his companion Donald Buchla, Subotnick recorded the album 'Silver Apples To The Moon' in 1967, which is still unmatched in its sonic and structural complexity. Nevertheless, during this homage to Subotnick, pianist Stefan Schultze and his Large Ensemble did not use any synthesizers at all!
