Presley, Elvis
Mid-south Coliseum, Memphis, 5th July 1976 (2cd)
Although he was in poor shape and nearing the end of his life, in the summer of '76 Elvis was still pulling in huge crowds and putting on rapturously received shows. Backed by his trusty band - led by the legendary James Burton's lead guitar - he appeared in his teenage hometown on July 5th. Although it was a Monday, 12,000 people turned up to hear him tear through a lengthy set featuring material from the length of his career. It's presented in full here, together with background notes and images. CD 1: 01. 2001: A Space Odyssey (Also Sprach Zarathustra) 02. CC Rider 03. I've Got A Woman 04. Love Me 05. Fairytale 06.
