Danish psychobilly trio Nekromantix formed in Copenhagen in 1989, melding heavy metal and some goth underpinnings in their style. After a well-received debut via Tombstone, the band reached greater heights with 1991's 'Curse Of The Coffin' for Nervous Records, perceptively produced by Micky Mutant of Meteors fame. With frontman Kim Gaarde playing a coffin-shaped bass, Pete Sandorff shredding speed-metal riffs on his guitar and drummer Peek never letting the pace drop below feverish, 'Curse Of The Coffin' is a wild ride that redefined the psychobilly genre, making Nekromantix leading lights of the second wave.
