Mount Jacinto
Silver Lining
Mount Jacinto, the brainchild of Costa Rican artist Sonya Carmona (formerly of Colornoise and Las Robertas), draws inspiration from the majestic Mount San Jacinto and Northern California's open landscapes. The band features Gini Jungi (Annie Taylor) on guitar, Adrian Oesch on drums, Peruvian Joel Morales on bass, and Mexican Yan-Cey on synths, blending Latin flair with alternative rock. Their debut EP, 'Outward Signs' (March 2023), merges chamber music elements, groovy bass lines reminiscent of Air's 'Moon Safari,' and raw alternative rock. Produced by JooJoo Ashworth (Froth) and mixed by Alex Newport (Bloc Party), it explores pop-rock psychedelia. The standout title track, 'Silver Lining,' reflects the band's evolution, blending synthwave influences from Depeche Mode and Eurythmics with modern indie vibes. The album 'Silver Lining' is a deeply personal journey through love, loss, and self-discovery. Tracks like 'Forest' and 'The Reason' confront inner struggles, pairing heartfelt lyrics with lush soundscapes. Inspired by '60s and '70s classics, the album captures Carmona's transformative experiences, offering a soulful, modern indie sound. Released on limited blue vinyl.
