Jeane Lee (1939-2000) was an African American vocalist, poet, composer, improvisor, activist and educator. In her 40-year career she played with Archie Shepp, Marion Brown, Frank Lowe, William Parker, Andrew Cyrille, Anthony Braxton, Ran Blake, Billy Bang, Cecil Tylor, John Cage, Rahsaan Roland Kirk, Pauline Oliveros, Reggie Workman and many more. Originally released on her own Erthforms records in 1975 in limited quantity came 'Conspiracy', which sees a long-awaited reissue.
