Sonoris Causa
'Sonoris Causa' is a captivating exploration of low frequencies and sonic mystery, recorded live at the 2003 Festival Musique Action in Vandoeuvre, France. This quintet, featuring rare low-pitched instruments like the contrabass sarrusophone, five-string double basses, bass trombone, and baritone saxophone, creates a unique soundscape that delves into the depths of vibration and resonance. The musicians, including Jouk Minor, David Chiésa, Louis-Michel Marion, Thierry Madiot, and Daunik Lazro, use their instruments to evoke chthonic realms - vast, dark, and enclosed spaces where sound becomes physical and immersive.
