La Jungla/el Dragon Criollo
La Cumbia Del Desierto/je Pense A Toi
A 7", mastered and cut at The Carvery, packed with tropical rhythms and exotic melodies. 'La Cumbia Del Desierto' by La Jungla, on side A, is the first work we have from this enigmatic project, still not revealed. This cumbia takes you directly to the Colombian Atlantic coast with an hypnotic cadence that is going to turn the dancing on. Clean tones and rhythmic bass are nice and the sound of the traditional Millo flute is definitely a Colombian signature. La Jungla seems to have a double intention (like this 7"), one urban and one native. This first work that we have the opportunity to listen to, leads us through mysterious notes and cadences, a kind of invocation to the ancestors. Side B is 'Je Pense A Toi' by El Dragón Criollo, a project by Paulo Olarte Toro, who after having a leading role in the world stage of electronic music for years returns to his roots. El Dragón Criollo is a return to the essence, to the origins, and 'Je Pense A Toi' is the evidence. It's also music for a sunny day, a happy life or a tropical party, full of rhythm and Antillean feelings, an affirmation of the joy of living. El Dragón Criollo is one of the best exponents of the tropical sound made by Colombians abroad, who have found the most reliable way to represent the essence of their roots in music.
