In 'Con Sentido Y Razón' Illapu reverses a series of Nueva Cancion songs by Latin American authors, ranging from classics by Víctor Jara ('Manifiesto,' 'Movil Oil Special,' 'La Partida'), through works by Silvio Rodríguez ('El Necio'), Joaquín Sabina ('Violetas Para Violeta') and Víctor Heredia ('Sobreviviendo'), to "younger" artists such as Jorge Drexler ('Aquellos Tiempos'), Raly Barrionuevo ('Chacarera Del Exilio'), Alexis Venegas ('La Fuerza Del Glaciar'), Luzmila Carpio ('Yanapariwayku') and the Mapuche duo Che Nuevo, who contribute a magnificent song ('Nuestro Mensaje') in homage to the Mapuche people-nation and to weichafe (warrior) Matas Catrileo, murdered by carabineros during the government of Michelle Bachelet.
