The famous blues artist's legendary 1959 debut for the Chicago-based Vee Jay label, reissued on vinyl! The 12 cuts on this release were take from sessions that took place during the period 1955-1959. On four of these tracks he worked alone, playing guitar while pounding his foot on a convenient piece of plywood. On the other eight tracks he was joined by an additional rhythm guitar, string bass and drums. This is John Lee Hooker at his very best!
