Orion Awakes
Produced in the mid-'70s by one Toby Robinson (a.k.a. Genius P. Orridge) at the Dierks Studio in Cologne, this is a glorious kraut/space/psych rock album from a mysterious band, apparently featuring well known musicians from the German underground in disguise. Expect plenty of ripping guitars, wild Hammond moves, primitive synths and trippy effects. The album was originally manufactured in a very tiny handmade run, of which copies are impossible to track down. So we're happy that this stunning title finally gets its deserved vinyl reissue, including remastered sound, reproduced -silver foil- artwork and an insert with liner notes. 'Orion Awakes' is essential for fans of a.o. Guru Guru, Cosmic Jokers/Couriers, Neu!, Brainticket, Hawkwind and second and third period Pink Floyd.
