"I hate covers. I have never heard a cover version that outshines the original recording. Thus, it is a mystery why I did this. Being me it makes no sense. I have always enjoyed Marco Corbelli's work and while all of it is not to my liking there is always something unmistakably special about it. I really got sucked in by his Mörder Machine project, but the last few years I have been listening a lot more to Atrax Morgue. Sometimes when I was a bit out of ideas in the studio I would try out some simple drones or synth patches and they kept reminding me of Marco's work. His music is often quite stripped down, simple and improvised and that was what I was getting too. This led to trying to recreate some of my favorite tracks of his. I was not close to Marco Corbelli, but we were in contact occasionally, trading albums. He liked my music and I liked his. I hope he would have liked my interpretations of his work!
