Fluid

The Fluid, a Denver-based band from the late '80s and early '90s, blended '80s hardcore, Detroit protopunk, '60s garage rock, and '70s swagger. Known for fiery live shows and influences like MC5 and the Rolling Stones, they were the first non-Seattle band signed to Sub Pop, releasing standout albums like Clear Black Paper and a split 7" with Nirvana. Despite touring with icons like Nirvana and Soundgarden, The Fluid remained a cult favorite, overshadowed by Seattle's grunge boom. Their music combined rock anthems, punk energy, and bluesy grooves, often covering legends like The Troggs and Iggy Pop. Sub Pop and Jack Endino have remastered and remixed their catalog, including 'Punch N Judy' and 'Roadmouth,' making their feral, urgent sound more powerful than ever. The reissues aim to give The Fluid the recognition they deserve. Limited silver vinyl release.
