Dew, Ruby
Flaming June
Introducing Ruby Dew, a captivating new voice in contemporary music. Hailing from South London and influenced by her west country roots, Ruby's music is a poignant blend of personal reflection and self empowerment. The title and artwork of her debut EP 'Flaming June' reference Frederic Leighton's iconic 1895 painting, symbolising both the beauty and awakening of femininity. Ruby's journey of self-discovery and confidence mirrors the transition from a state of slumber to a vibrant spring, a theme vividly portrayed in her music. Influenced by iconic artists such as Joni Mitchell, PJ Harvey, and Adrianne Lenker of Big Thief, Ruby's sound is rich with introspective lyrics and warm, intricate instrumentation. NX Records is run by Richard Greenan (Kit Records), and Goldsmiths University Music Department.
