Martin Blume has brought together an exciting quartet, featuring Tobias Delius (saxophone, clarinet), Achim Kaufmann (piano), and Dieter Manderscheid (bass), blending the fresh sounds of the Cologne jazz scene. Blume and Manderscheid's long-standing collaboration allows them to seamlessly shift between rhythm and color, while Kaufmann's harmonic subtlety and poetic energy complement the ensemble. Delius, known for his mix of traditional swing, blues, and free jazz, adds variety with his use of circular breathing and multiphonics. Throughout, the musicians skillfully exchange leads and dynamics, creating spontaneous rhythms and melodies.
