Brazilian music legend Jorge Ben, often called the James Brown of Brazil, teamed up with guitarist/singer Toquinho for the 1970 duet `Carolina, Carol Bela', featured on Toquinho's album Toquinho (RGE). This track, reissued as a 45 for the first time, gained global recognition after being sampled in DJ Marky and XRS's 2002 drum & bass hit `LK', which topped UK charts. Joao Donato, a renowned jazz and bossa nova pianist, contributed to the bossa nova boom in the U.S. during the late '60s. His track `Ara', from the acclaimed 1973 album Quem é Quem (EMI), showcases his genius. This album is celebrated as one of the greatest in Brazilian music history.
