Banfi, Baffo
The Ic Years (2cd)
Giuseppe Banfi, also known as Baffo Banfi, former keyboardist of the Italian progressive rock band Un Biglietto Per l'Inferno, began his solo career under the name J.B. Banfi in 1978 with the album 'Galaxy My Dear'. Baffo's musical style was strongly inspired by the visionary sounds of cosmic electronic music, the "Berlin School" and artists such as Klaus Schulze, Manuel Göttsching or Tangerine Dream. The following year, Baffo signed a contract with Klaus Schulze's IC label. 'Ma, Dolce Vita' was released in 1979, followed by 'Hearth' in 1981. For both albums, Klaus Schulze was in charge of the production. After the release of 'Hearth', Baffo Banfi retired from music and founded a video production company in Milan. It was not until 2015 that Baffo Banfi released another album alongside Italian sound engineer, producer, composer and keyboardist Matteo Cantaluppi.
