'Line For Lyons' is Gerry Mulligan's early tribute to the prominent west coast disc jockey Jimmy Lyons. The baritone saxophonist developed a fondness for his composition and re-recorded it on a number of sessions with different instrumentation. The cover of this LP was shot during a recording session at Radio Recorders Studio B in Los Angeles, 1953 and shows Chet Baker, Larry Bunker, Gerry Mulligan and Carson Smith.
