In 1970, Italian composer Sandro Brugnolini recorded the two psychedelic lounge masterpieces 'Overground' and 'Underground' at Dirmaphon Studios in Rome. Featuring a lineup of some of Italy's finest musicians - Silvano Chimenti (guitar), Angelo Baroncini (guitar), Giorgio Carnini (organ and piano), Giovanni Tommaso (bass and effects), and Enzo Restuccia (drums) - these sessions were deeply rooted in the late 1960s psychedelic sound but uniquely fused jazz improvisation, funk, and Latin and African rhythms with cinematic melodies. This fusion defines their distinctive character and cements them as two of Brugnolini's most impressive works, remaining among the most sought-after artifacts from the golden era of Italian library music. 'Overground' - which Sonor Music Editions reissued in 2024 - was originally released as the soundtrack to 'Persuasione,' a documentary commissioned by Ente Provinciale Per Il Turismo Di Trento. Meanwhile, 'Underground' was issued in two separate releases, RT 104 and RT 16, on the library and soundtrack label Record TV Discografica, founded by Alessandro Derevitzky in the late 1950s. In 2014, SME compiled both versions for 'Underground's first-ever reissue (SME 3), featuring the longer version of 'Psichefreèlico' from RT 16, instead of the shorter 'Sostenuto' and 'Ballata' versions from RT 104, along with new artwork. Now, in this 2025 reissue, 'Underground' returns in its original RT 104 attire, with its original track listing and artwork. Sourced and carefully remastered from the original mono tapes and lacquer cut by Jukka Sarapää at Timmion Cutting, this edition features carefully restored Record TV Discografica label design artwork, printed on high-quality card stock.

At last the Lollipop Shop can present a new LP by the Cosmic Kangaroos! Before this the Cosmic Kangaroos released a record with two long improvised tracks which came out in 1999 - and the last album of songs even dates back to 1993. But make no mistake, the Cosmic Kangaroos have been around continuously since the summer of 1986. So, before anyone gets the wrong idea: This is no "re-union album". But it also means that for this album Mecky, Kermit and Groucho Kangaroo had to choose songs from a period of almost 39 years of writing music together - no easy task, to say the least. On the other hand, playing together that long made the band a unit that almost works as one musical mind - which made recording new material and re-visiting older songs a lot of fun. Especially as the
band now has its own recording equipment. Hence everything could be experimented on and collected together in a rather relaxed fashion over a longer period of time. In the end eight songs have been chosen for this LP to show the different facets of psychedelic music the Cosmic Kangaroos stand for: focused and hard driving psych-songs, traditional westcoast-style psychedelia with longer impro passages as well as some garage punk thrown in for good measure. Apart from the music the album features original artwork by graphic artist Christian Witt.
Edition of 100 hand-numbered copies featuring special "cosmic silver lettering" on the front cover. Includes insert with lyrics + download-code.

Now, the staff of Peppermint issues these recordings officially for the first time from the original masters! Assumed to be lost for good, Glass Harp's guitarist and vocalist Phill Keaggy accidentally stumbled upon the box with the masters when looking for tapes for another project. Glass Harp's dynamic range and energetic performances in their music takes the listener on an emotional journey through the delicate acoustic ballads to the more driving rock songs. After ten years, Hooffoot's triptych is now complete with their latest musical tapestry 'Phantom Limb.' The third album by Swedish progressive kraut/jazzrockers mixes spontaneity with carefully crafted, lyrical themes into an instrumental storytelling. The debut album struck like a bolt from the blue in 2015 and by some acclaimed as "debut of the century." The follow up 'The Lights In The Aisle Will Guide You' was equally appraised as "bloody bloody great." The first two records were a polite knock on the door, saying; excuse us but we think we have something unique here. Luckily, some people really grasped that, and the love from fans have built a strong confidence in the band. This time around, without pardons, Hooffoot kicks in the door. On this album you will recognize the eclectic blend of genres but also more melodies with echoes from Swedish folk music. The four long compositions offers plenty of risk-taking and fast corners. The live recorded production is again beautifully transparent but slightly heavier than the previous releases. The band is a tight quartet but the soundscape is further expanded by invited guests, contributing with percussion and violin. On two of the tracks you will hear bass clarinet and transverse flute courtesy of the soulful Swedish international jazz star Fredrik Kronkvist (considered one of Europe's finest alto saxophonists).

Since 2010, when 'Il Pittore Volante' was released, Luciano Regoli has been delighting the demanding crowds of Italian and international progressive rock fans with excellent releases under the name Raccomandata Con Ricevuta Di Ritorno, whose only LP dating back to the 1970s ('Per... Un Mondo Di Cristallo,' 1972) is one of the most beautiful and fascinating in the entire Italian prog scene. The following 'Live In Elba' (2015) and 'In Rock' (2019) are now finally succeeded by 'In Fuga,' proving that Luciano Regoli's creative vein never expired in recent years; in fact, as per tradition, the cover painting is one of his creations too. The main characters participating in this comeback are first and foremost his lifelong friends Walter Martino (drummer with Goblin, Libra and many others) and Nanni Civitenga (bassist with Raccomandata since the beginning), as well as various other musicians who contribute to expanding the project's sound spectrum. The songs on 'In Fuga' are often reminiscent of the more prog and epic sides of Uriah Heep and Deep Purple, adorned with wind instruments (flute and sax) and indelibly marked by Luciano Regoli's still expressive incredible voice.

Remastered by Ivan Pjevcevic in 2024. Psych to post metal to prog and folk and heavy weirdness unite under USX's unique approach. 'Prayer Meeting' was originally the very first unreleased record by the pastoral psychedelic congregation U.S. Christmas, hailing from Marion NC, in the middle of the Appalachian region. USX have a long career and several released on the mighty Neurot Recordings, published just after an ultra-limited demo batch of 'Prayer Meeting' was around.

Wonderful new album by legendary Raccomandata Con Ricevuta Di Ritorno! Since 2010, when 'Il Pittore Volante' was released, Luciano Regoli has been delighting the demanding crowds of Italian and international progressive rock fans with excellent releases under the name Raccomandata Con Ricevuta Di Ritorno, whose only LP dating back to the 1970s ('Per... Un Mondo Di Cristallo,' 1972) is one of the most beautiful and fascinating in the entire Italian prog scene. The following 'Live In Elba' (2015) and 'In Rock' (2019) are now finally succeeded by 'In Fuga,' proving that Luciano Regoli's creative vein never expired in recent years; in fact, as per tradition, the cover painting is one of his creations too. The main characters participating in this comeback are first and foremost his lifelong friends Walter Martino (drummer with Goblin, Libra and many others) and Nanni Civitenga (bassist with Raccomandata since the beginning), as well as various other musicians who contribute to expanding the project's sound spectrum. The songs on 'In Fuga' are often reminiscent of the more prog and epic sides of Uriah Heep and Deep Purple, adorned with wind instruments (flute and sax) and indelibly marked by Luciano Regoli's still expressive incredible voice.

Denison Witmer returns with a new collection of ten vibrant and pensive folk-pop songs recorded and produced by Sufjan Stevens, his long-time friend and collaborator. Anything At All finds Denison in a suitably reflective mood, mining sublime revelation from an ordinary, domesticated life. Topics like bird watching, carpentry, houseplants, and hiking offer insights into bigger, existential questions about life, death, meaning, and purpose. What are we doing with the precious time we have left on this earth? Whether it's spent making clocks, gathering berries, planting trees, or putting the kids to bed at night, these songs suggest that a life lived with thoughtfulness and care can lead to deeper joy and fulfillment. Recorded sporadically over a period of two years, Anything At All was primarily created at Sufjan's Catskills studio during the pandemic, with additional sessions recorded by Andy Park, in Seattle, WA. Contributors include Stevens and Park as well as Sam Evian, Hannah Cohen, Sean Lane, and Keenan O'Meara, amongst others. The album's musical aesthetic marries Denison's folksy, Mennonite vibe with Sufjan's signature bells and whistles: lush strings and woodwinds, women's choir, and an occasional jazzy saxophone weave their way around Denison's matter-of-fact vocals and acoustic guitar. These are simple folk songs with bursts of awe and wonder.

Georgie Fame was different. The bulk of "rhythm and blues" groups followed the Stones image: scruffy urchins who you probably wouldn't invite around for tea, but his image was totally different. Georgie and the Blues Flames looked more like members of the Stax/Volt Revue than the Downliners Sect. And then there was the music. Repress on "crystal meth" coloured vinyl. For a soundtrack to the end of the world, there is no band better than Electric Wizard. As the COVID pandemic took hold in 2020 and lockdown restricted movement to your immediate surrounds, the legendary British doom outfit wondered if they might ever play live again. Out in the wilds of the English Westcountry where singer/guitarist Jus Oborn and guitarist Liz Buckingham live, the band descended into their crypt-like jam space to make a live album like no other. With no audience, and no actual plan to release what they came out with, they recorded themselves into a 16-track tape machine to capture their essence, their malevolence, their heaviness. "We'd been gigging for two years at that point, around America three times, going to Japan and Australia, and we were sounding pretty good by the end of it," says Jus. Edition of 300 copies on clear vinyl. Infinite Fog are delighted to present another piece of the intriguing Coil puzzle. In the mid 1990s the core team of John Balance and Peter Christopherson were continuing their exploration of the outer reaches of electronic sound production as exemplified by the 'Born Again Pagans' release, originally an EP only, featuring both the hugely danceable 'Protection' smash which had Danny Hyde's influence writ in large letters all over it, as well as the first outings of their intriguing more ambient/glitch-based ElpH material, probably their most haunting and haunted works. This 3LP anthology re-edition collects all of the ElpH material which didn't appear on their later 'Worship The Glitch' album, namely the 'pHILM #1' 10", a host of very rare compilation tracks as well as a number of at the time unreleased pieces in the same vein. The stunningly presented release also features the ElpH entity's last ever appearance originally available as part of Raster Noton's award winning 20 to 2000 series of releases, the 'Zwölf' EP. All of the material has been lovingly remastered by Jessica Thompson with re-imagined design-work by Oleg Galay and it includes a replica of the original St. Sebastian on acid poster.

Founding work of minimalism, 'Music With Changing Parts' is a piece with free instrumentation. The musicians choose which part to play among the 8 staves of the score. At each indicated cue, the musicians can change part, which produces an abrupt change of instrumentation. While the music is based on a melodic material limited to a few notes that are repeated in patterns that expand or contract, the changes in orchestration refresh the listening experience by producing sonic contrasts. These techniques at work in 'Music With Changing Parts,' written in 1970, will lead Philip Glass to renew his language and move from the monochromatic works that precede it to more dramatic works such as music in 12 parts and especially the opera 'Einstein On The Beach.' When Philip Glass began rehearsing the piece, he was surprised to hear long notes when everything was written in eighth notes. After making sure that none of the musicians were playing held notes, he realized
that the fact that the same notes were played by all the instruments in the ensemble produced, through a psycho-acoustic effect, a harmonic substrate of resonant frequencies. He then decided to add to the score the possibility of playing long notes to reinforce this effect. "For this recording, we chose to record first the eighth notes, then the long notes in re-recording. This utopian version, with each musician playing short and long notes at the same time (!), illustrates the minimalist aesthetic that plays with our perception and allows
us to reconcile opposites and cultivate the apparent paradox of a music that moves forward without Moving and changes constantly while remaining the same." (Didier Aschour/Dedalus Ensemble, July 2024).

This album bridges past and present through the voice and instruments of Maria Violenza and Luciano Turella, with the Irtumbranda project (formerly performing as the duo BrandaMaria), offering an intimate and visceral reinterpretation of Sicilian musical tradition. On Side A, the island's ancient melodies come to life through an interpretation that enhances their raw and profoundly visceral character. Maria Violenza, who grew up listening to these songs in family gatherings and popular festivals in Palermo, revives them with an intensity that is both personal and collective-private memory and shared heritage. Alongside her, Irtumbranda's viola, with its classical training, transforms these chants into evocative sonic narratives, amplifying their pathos and revealing unexpected nuances. The result is a work that does not merely reproduce tradition but rewrites it, weaving a dialogue between popular oral tradition and cultivated instrumental sensitivity. On Side B, the baton passes to Tropicantesimo, a collective known for its ability to manipulate sound as a fluid and transformative material. Here, Sicilian music is transported into an unprecedented dimension, where voice and melodic textures dissolve and reassemble in dreamlike electronic landscapes. Through delays, reverbs, and synthetic pulsations, the chants seem to emerge from a timeless elsewhere, like echoes of a past becoming the future. Maria Violenza, along with Irtumbranda and Tropicantesimo, presents us with a sonic portrait of Sicily, a land that has always known how to make its roots converse with the outside world, embracing contaminations and constantly reinventing itself. As Rosa Balistreri, the great singer of the island, once taught, Sicilian folk music is a cry of protest, a collective game, a denunciation of the oppressed, and an anthem to love-sentiments that transcend eras and borders, remaining eternally alive.
With this work, Baccano reaffirms its mission to restore folk music with a contemporary breath, stripping it of nostalgia and bringing it into the present as a pulsating and unstoppable force.

Previously unreleased material composed by Bernard Parmegiani in 1992. 'Lac Noir - La Serpente' is part of Emmanuel
Raquin-Lorenzi's 'Lac Noir,' a composite work inspired by a serpentine female creature or 'snake-woman' that he saw in Transylvania in 1976, with a total of 33 pieces using various media, 24 by himself and 9 by other artists. All the materials used in 'Lac Noir' were gathered on the land of the snake-woman
between 1990 and 1992. The first coordinated broadcast ran from June to October 2019, like a theatrical display of media. At the end of May 1992, in Provence, in his Summer studio not far from the Montagne Sainte-Victoire, Bernard Parmegiani played me the first musical moments he had worked on from the sounds he and Christian Zanési had collected in Negreni in October 1990. A few days after this listening session, on 4th June, I wrote him a letter. I didn't mean to take control of what was to become the ninth movement of his composition, but to share with
him some of the resonances I had heard in what he had composed, which mingled with my dreams and memories of the Transylvanian snake-woman, and outlined possible concordances with the other
pieces underway for 'Lac Noir.' In the midst of the garish chaos of the fair and its spectacular stunts, there could spread out - still, silent eye of the cyclone - the long waters of a lake. Calm waters. Patches cool but sensitive as skin. Between the waters there flows and ripples, there shows up and dives again a snake-woman born of the still waters. A sweet, good serpent whose song - strange and melodious, sensual, yet already tinged, as if bitten by the black depths, with bitterness; that of prescience, shading it with melancholy - is her very undulation, the rings of which appear, together or in turn, the way translucent veins overlap, slither over one another in a moving braid of metamorphoses. Andrew Ostler continues his artistic evolution towards choral beauty, orchestral textures, ambient drones and low woodwind, into the realms of Jóhann Jóhannsson, Arvo Pärt or Stars Of The Lid. Building on the string arrangements of his previous LP 'Dots On A Disk Of Snow,' and taking a heavy dose of sax drone from an earlier album still, this record also adds a full choir, taking the music to another level of spiritual intensity. "This is music of transcendence, and perhaps transformation... A glimpse of something profound: not merely music, but a reflection of the sublime itself - blind, unknowable, and utterly captivating" (Chain D.L.K.). On the first three compositions the drones are, for the most part, relatively gentle, while chant-like choral arrangements drift and weave around and above them. 'Affirmation' is quietly confident, with a surge of intensity around the midpoint; 'Confession' is perhaps more tentative, the shifting canon of the voices threatened by a distant storm of distorted synth shredding; 'Adoration' restores the straightforward choral beauty, building to an unashamed cadence. The immense final track 'Meditation' is a quite different affair. Here the drones are more intense slabs, the choir is more demonstrative in its emotion, and the ultimate climax the more devastating for it. The journey is longer, but the rewards are greater for the committed. Originally released on Andrew Ostler's own Expert Sleepers label on limited edition blue vinyl in 2024, Cold Spring are very proud to press this gem onto CD for the first time. Hugh Davies (1943-2005) was a musicologist, composer, and inventor of experimental musical instruments. 20 years on from his death, ''68' pays homage to Hugh's legacy at Goldsmiths; he was the founder and original director of the university's Electronic Music Studios, established in 1968.

Billy Harper is one of the great tenor saxophonists in the post-Coltrane mold. Originally from Houston, TX and with a degree from the venerable University of North Texas College of Music, Harper emerged on the New York City jazz scene in the late 1960s performing with Art Blakey, Max Roach, Lee Morgan and others. Known for his soulful and propulsive tone, Harper was already a highly regarded and prolific session man before the release of his debut album as a leader on the cult favorite Strata-East label in 1973. Recorded in 1975, 'Black Saint' was the second album for Billy Harper as bandleader and is the most acclaimed and fully realized of his long career. The inaugural release of the Italian label Black Saint - to which the album lent its name - is comprised entirely of Harper compositions; the peaceful and subdued opener 'Dance, Eternal Spirits, Dance!,' the swinging and fiery 'Croquet Ballet' and the side-long epic 'Call Of The Wild And Peaceful Heart.' Harper's group features trumpeter Virgil Jones - a graduate of Roland Kirk's mid-'60s groups and session player for McCoy Tyner, Charles Tolliver and others - along with Joe Bonner on piano, David Friesen on bass and Malcom Pinson on drums.

Alexander Rosengren a.k.a. Ialone was a Swedish hip-hop producer from Ludvika, Sweden. His untimely passing led to the decision by a group of his friends to release a compilation of his tracks from during the years he was active. With a true love for music in general and being a strict perfectionist. Ialone's tracks were characterized by a range of things. Such as carefully crafted drum loops, emotive samples, hard quotes from rappers and/or other interesting vocal samples or sounds of different things, creating a confronting and heavy sound. All wrapped up in a lo-fi aesthetic based on his pure interest in different equipment and production techniques. As he would have preferred to describe it: 'Proper Sound.' This is instrumental hiphop music for fans of everything from golden age hiphop beats to the more experimental side of things. Limited to 100 copies only!

1968 to 1972, saw the release of 6 studio albums from folk's first supergroup Pentangle. Featuring the songwriting talents of guitarists Bert Jansch and John Renbourn, alongside bassist Danny Thompson, drummer Terry Cox and singer Jacqui McShee, their innovative folk-fusion encompassed elements of jazz as well as pop, which left a lasting influence and legacy. The first 5 albums were released on legendary folk label Transatlantic, while 'Solomon's Seal' (1972), on the Reprise label, was their final album with the original line-up. Now for the first time ever, these albums are available as a 14LP deluxe box set. Each album has been expanded with a wealth of bonus material, including choice selections from contemporaneous solo LPs by Bert Jansch and John Renbourn, out-takes and live tracks. Across the package, there is an impressive amount of 22 recordings which are previously unreleased on LP. Some of the albums are being reissued on vinyl for the first time in decades with 'Solomon's Seal' last being released as an LP in 1977, shortly followed by 'Reflection' in 1980. Each album is presented in a gatefold sleeve replicating the original artwork. These are housed in an rigid slipcase box alongside an special gatefold holding a 64-page book awash with rare images and over 20,000 words of sleeve-notes, which include: a Q&A culled from past interviews by author Mick Houghton with Bert, John and Jacqui, essays about each album by a variety of music journalists (Stuart Penney, Trevor Leeden, Nigel Cross, Colin Irwin, Lois Wilson and Jim Wirth), a lengthy chronology, and track-by-track details. The records have been remastered from the best available sources, with careful referencing of original tapes and vinyl where relevant. The master disc cutting is handled by Pauler Acoustics in Germany, renowned for their audiophile-quality releases. They utilize original Neumann VMS-82 cutting lathes and the Direct Metal Mastering (DMM) process, ensuring unmatched transparency and clarity. From there, the records are pressed at Puristamo in Helsinki, Finland, a plant known for its meticulous attention to detail and sustainability practices. Every record undergoes thorough hand inspection for quality. We've spared no effort to preserve the integrity of these brilliant albums - you can expect a listening experience worthy of their legacy.

They got released as very limited CD-R editions and digitally. Now, 11 years later, Pancromatic Records Norway gives us the opportunity to listen to those recordings on vinyl, which is two releases on a colored double LP each, with fitting and new artwork by Lulu Artwork. For this release, the recordings got mastered as good as possible by Falko at Institut Für Angewandten Krach. Electric Moon - Live 2012 - I: recorded live at the Zytanien Festival 2012. Sula Bassana - guitar, fx, Komet Lulu - bass, fx, Michael Orloff - drums. Comes on orange vinyl.

BETTER PRICE! This album features elements of two of the greatest revolutionary rock bands of all time. Wayne Kramer came to prominence as a teenager in 1967 as a co-founder of the Detroit rock group MC5, a group known for their powerful live performances and radical left-wing political stance. The Pink Fairies - on the other hand - are an English rock band initially active in the London underground and psychedelic scene of the early 1970's. They promoted free music, drug taking and anarchy and often performed impromptu gigs and other agitprop stunts. This LP has their recordings from the period 1974-78 and includes the 'Live At Ding' session. Comes on clear vinyl.

SULA BASSANA - LOOP STATION DRONES (2LP)
Limited to 500 copies on hazy red vinyl. Sula did it again. An album recorded in 3 evenings. This time some 'Loop Station Drones'. With guitar, effect pedals, 2 loop stations, 2 guitar amps, a syncable drum computer, a very old organ from GDR (Weltmeister TO 200/5), a very old synthesizer (Roland SH 5) and a modern one (Roland SE-02) Sula instantly composed 7 tracks. Later Sula cutted them down a little and made some very little overdubs. 'Roadburn Haze' was exclusively made for the Roadburn Festival Redux in April 2021. Recorded on the 28th of March, together with tracks 2 and 7. Tracks 3-6 recorded on the 13th and 14th of May for Radio KFJC home stream-concert. But only the first 3 of them appeared. These were filmed by Thierry Miguet for Wah Wah TV and you can watch it at his great Youtube channel.
