Agnus formed in 1973 in Santa Fe, Argentina, but it wasn't until 1980 that they managed to release their sole magnus opus 'Pinturas Y Expresiones,' the most expensive (3k) prog album that was ever released in Argentina. This is a unique blend of symphonic prog with 2 faces, equally split between the 2 sides, one with a folky edge, punctuated by aethereal pastoral vocals in an intimate dialogue with flute and violin, and another packed with wandering psychedelic guitars and side-effects. Picture Rennaissance in an interminable jam with MIA and Catharsis with Bacamarte and you might start to get a feel for this one-of-a-kind artefact. This is the first, long-awaited official reissue featuring the original booklet + bespoke biography straight from the band. Edition of 250 copies on black vinyl.

Here's the famous live rendition of the concert film directed by Adrian Maben, featuring the band performing at the ancient Roman amphitheatre in Pompeii, Italy. The band performs a typical live set from the era, but there is no audience beyond the basic film crew. The band insisted on playing live, and brought their regular touring gear with them. Their roadie, Peter Watts, suggested that the 8-track recorder would produce a sound comparable to a studio recording. In addition, the natural echo of the amphitheatre provided good acoustics for the recording. Comes on green marbled (A/B) and brown marbled (C/D) vinyl.

The Richard Last Group's 'Get Ready' is an ultra-rare gem of Italian prog-rock, originally released in 1972 and now reissued for the first time. Formed in Milan as Duu Duu in 1969, the band evolved into Richard Last Group with singer Maurizio Calò (aka Richard Coley). Their only album, featuring covers of Jethro Tull, Donovan, and others, along with three originals, faded into obscurity until its rediscovery in the late '90s. Notably, it includes a young Walter Calloni, later of PFM. This faithful reissue comes on black vinyl with a 30x30cm insert.

A mystery for many years (all the band members used pseudonyms on the album credits), many people failed to track the band down. Until Out-Sider Music solved the mystery in 2015 when we located them and reissued the album.
Long out of print they present a new edition. Formed in 1974 in Houston, Stud featured the killer lead guitar of 17-year-old genius Tim Williams, the brutal Rickenbacker bass attacks of Paul Eakin and the solid as a rock drumming of George Lasher. The chemistry was born since they first starting played together and after many rehearsals, they decided they were ready to record their first album. So they entered the Barons Studios in Rosenberg and 'Stud' was the result. Powerful hard-rock on songs like 'A Woman Like You' or 'Jim/Blues,' killer boogie-rock ('Captain Boogie'), hard-psychedelic jams (the 12+ minutes of 'Stud') and progressive hard-rock on the impressive 'The War Song.' De Vlaamse Primitieven is the project of three friends - musicians Jan Boudart and Freek Vreys with Venediktos Tempelboom at the helm of production - still living in the cosmic acid-seeker mindset. Together they have created an album which encapsulates the ideology of their vision: Combining a myriad of 'off-centre' musical genres (American Primitivism, psychedelia/krautrock, '60s style UK folk, drone...) through the lens of guitar traditions. The DIY aesthetic that informs their style is a conscious decision to shine light on the 'visibility' of the creation process. The album was recorded live in one take, deep in the night at Venediktos Tempelboom's Ambacht Tapes studio. The usage of beaten-down equipment (throwaways from other hi-fi studio's) and recording on second-hand tape show their anti-approach to the modern day 'music bizz': to live with what others do not honour. The resulting album is one big psychedelic extravaganza that will pop-out your third eye and will send rippling waves of psychedelic technicolor sound to flood the banks of your mind. WEIRD HERALD - JUST YESTERDAY
In 1968, Weird Herald released a now sought-after promo only 45 with the songs 'Saratoga James'/'Just Yesterday.' That 45 was part of a full album that was never released. Music ranges from haunting, beautiful folk-rock with spacey acoustic guitar playing and delicate vocal harmonies ('Untitled,' 'David Of Bijou' - probably the first ever song dedicated to Skip Spence - cool laid-back country-folk ('Reapin' Seasons,' sounding not unlike current bands like the Milk Carton Kids) to energetic hard-rockers à la early Moby Grape or Jefferson Airplane with stunning electric leads. Not forgetting 'Where I'm Bound' which has a cool 'Notorious Byrd Brothers' feel or 'Burgundy And Yellow,' kinda Weird Herald's 'Bass Strings' (Country Joe & The Fish). Hailing from Los Gatos in California, Weird Herald featured two accomplished guitar players who are local legends in the San Jose/Santa Cruz area, Billy Dean Andrus and Paul Ziegler. Their roots can be traced to the early San Jose folk/coffeehouse scene. Jorma Kaukonen (Jefferson Airplane/Hot Tuna) was a close friend and used to jam with them. Billy Dean Andrus was Skip Spence's best friend since high school and they both used to perform as a folk duo in the early days. A fantastic rhythm section, Cecil Bollinger on bass and Pat McIntire on drums rounded the band. Sadly, in 1970 Billy Dean Andrus died of a drug overdose in the Santa Cruz Mountains. He was immortalized on the songs 'Ode For Billy Dean' written by Jorma Kaukonen for Hot Tuna and 'Chicago' by the Doobie Brothers. Paul Ziegler ended up joining up Hot Tuna in the early '70s. He passed away in 2000. Problems with the management/producers led to the planned album being shelved and, according to legend, the master tapes destroyed. Luckily, reel-to-reel copies have remained with the Andrus family for half over a century, unheard until now. Includes 8-page insert with detailed liner notes by Cam Cobb (authors of 'Weighted Down: The Complicated Life Of Skip Spence') with input from the Andrus family and the surviving Weird Herald members and rare photos and a download card with 11 previously unreleased bonus tracks, including basement demos from 1967 by the first line-up of the band.

After the disbandment of the most iconic guitar group of all time, The Shadows, in 1970, its two leading members, Hank Marvin and Bruce Welch, joined forces with Australian musician John Farrar to form the trio - Marvin, Welch & Farrar.
In this lineup, they offered something entirely different from what their fans were accustomed to: a meticulously harmonized, melodic, and sophisticated brand of folk-rock heavily influenced by Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young. Undoubtedly, this was the most ambitious and artistically intriguing project involving members of The Shadows, yet, as often happens with such ventures, it failed to achieve the popularity it truly deserved. Between 1971 and 1972, the trio released two LPs and three singles. However, it has since come to light that they left behind much more material, some of which is featured on this CD, making it a significant addition to the band's discography. The CD is filled with live recordings from 1971-1972. The compilation has been curated to ensure that no track appears more than once on the album. It appears that all recordings were sourced from audience tapes, as no professionally preserved live recordings of the band are known to exist. However, at least half of the album boasts very decent sound quality. Notably, a significant portion of the setlist features songs from The Shadows' repertoire.
All tracks have been meticulously remastered, with speed adjustments and rebalancing of instrumental parts where feasible. The release comes in a laminated, fold-out card sleeve with a special disc envelope.

Private hard-rock ultra-rarity from Texas, only 200 copies pressed back in 1975. A mystery for many years (all the band members used pseudonyms on the album credits), many people failed to track the band down. Until Out-Sider Music solved the mystery in 2015 when we located them and reissued the album.
Long out of print they present a new edition. Formed in 1974 in Houston, Stud featured the killer lead guitar of 17-year-old genius Tim Williams, the brutal Rickenbacker bass attacks of Paul Eakin and the solid as a rock drumming of George Lasher. The chemistry was born since they first starting played together and after many rehearsals, they decided they were ready to record their first album. So they entered the Barons Studios in Rosenberg and 'Stud' was the result. In 1968, Weird Herald released a now sought-after promo only 45 with the songs 'Saratoga James'/'Just Yesterday.' That 45 was part of a full album that was never released. Music ranges from haunting, beautiful folk-rock with spacey acoustic guitar playing and delicate vocal harmonies ('Untitled,' 'David Of Bijou' - probably the first ever song dedicated to Skip Spence - cool laid-back country-folk ('Reapin' Seasons,' sounding not unlike current bands like the Milk Carton Kids) to energetic hard-rockers à la early Moby Grape or Jefferson Airplane with stunning electric leads. Not forgetting 'Where I'm Bound' which has a cool 'Notorious Byrd Brothers' feel or 'Burgundy And Yellow,' kinda Weird Herald's 'Bass Strings' (Country Joe & The Fish). Hailing from Los Gatos in California, Weird Herald featured two accomplished guitar players who are local legends in the San Jose/Santa Cruz area, Billy Dean Andrus and Paul Ziegler. Their roots can be traced to the early San Jose folk/coffeehouse scene. Jorma Kaukonen (Jefferson Airplane/Hot Tuna) was a close friend and used to jam with them. Billy Dean Andrus was Skip Spence's best friend since high school and they both used to perform as a folk duo in the early days. A fantastic rhythm section, Cecil Bollinger on bass and Pat McIntire on drums rounded the band. Sadly, in 1970 Billy Dean Andrus died of a drug overdose in the Santa Cruz Mountains. He was immortalized on the songs 'Ode For Billy Dean' written by Jorma Kaukonen for Hot Tuna and 'Chicago' by the Doobie Brothers. Paul Ziegler ended up joining up Hot Tuna in the early '70s. He passed away in 2000. Problems with the management/producers led to the planned album being shelved and, according to legend, the master tapes destroyed. Luckily, reel-to-reel copies have remained with the Andrus family for half over a century, unheard until now. Includes detailed liner notes by Cam Cobb (authors of 'Weighted Down: The Complicated Life Of Skip Spence') with input from the Andrus family and the surviving Weird Herald members and rare photos.

The first full length album by Dutch language darkwave/synthpop act Dorpsstraat 3 is a convincing ode to the new wave of the 1980s. With their gritty drum machines, reverb-drenched synths and distorted vocals, they immediately hark back to that nostalgic sound, but they manage to give it a contemporary twist that feels surprisingly relevant in these dark times. The stories of 'Staal Op Staal' are about the people in a fictional factory village that is on its last legs. 'VERS UNE MUSIQUE BRETONNE NOUVELLE' - If the jazz of François Tusques is "free", his spirit is even more so: having recorded 'Free Jazz' with other like-minded Frenchmen (Michel Portal, François Jeanneau, Bernard Vitet, Beb Guérin and Charles Saudrais), the pianist had covered a lot of ground, with Barney Wilen ('Le Nouveau Jazz') or even solo ('Piano Dazibao' and 'Dazibao N°2'), so as not to repeat himself... In 1971 he founded the Inter Communal Free Dance Music Orchestra which, as the notes the this album stated, "is an interpretation of a music which synthesizes the different communities living and working in France." In 1976, on the first album ('L'Inter Communal') we can already hear Tusques playing without borders in the company of Carlos Andreu (vocals), Michel Marre (trumpet and saxophone), Jo Maka (saxophone) and Ramadolf (trombone). It is a meeting between jazz and music from Catalonia, Occitanie and Africa. So far so good, but what about Brittany, that, Tusques knows "by heart"? Having lived for a long time in Nantes, he would expand his 'brittanitude' on the canal linking the city to Brest by playing with, for example the Diaouled-Ar-Menez. With these "devils from the mountain" who, under the baton of Yann Goasdoué, worked throughout the 1970s on the renewal of music from Brittany, Tusques met, notably, Tanguy Ledoré and invited him one day, with trois bombards and some bagpipes (Jean-Louis Le Vallegant, Gaby Kerdoncuff and Philippe Lestrat), to join the ranks of the Intercommunal. And so they set of towards a new music from Brittany, as the title states; 'Vers Une Musique Bretonne Nouvelle'! With percussion from Samuel Ateba and Kilikus, the association launches the 'bombardier': the repetitions and dissonance of the different members all serve a common cause however: the dance, which is always the reason for the party. This sets a whole universe spinning, which can bring to mind Chris McGregor's Brotherhood Of Breath ('La Rencontre') when not taking on board waltz, swing, blues and gavotta or even revealing mysteries like those of Gurdjieff ('Les Racines De La Montagne' or 'Le Cheval' sung by Andreu). Only one thing to say to this Brotherhood Of Breizh: Mersi!

Music-lovers of all lands, rejoice! Here you have the re-release of the fourth album of the Intercommunal Free Dance Music Orchestra recorded with the Guinean saxophonist Jo Maka. The title says it all: 'Vol. 4 - Jo Maka.' But before that, a bit of history... The Intercommunal Free Dance Music Orchestra was created in 1971 by an "old hand" of French free jazz,
François Tusques. 'Free Jazz' was also the name of the recording made by the pianist and other like-minded Frenchmen (Michel Portal, François Jeanneau, Bernard Vitet, Beb Guérin and Charles Saudrais) in 1965. But, six years later Tusques had had his fill of free jazz. So he then founded the Inter Communal, an association a name under which the different communities could become closer and compose, simply. In 1976, on the first album 'L'Inter Communal,' we can already hear Tusques playing without borders in the company of Carlos Andreu, Ramadolf, Michel Marre and Jo Maka (as a conclusion to this 'Vol. 4,' we can hear them in 1977 at the Moulin de Prades Le Lez). Over the next decade, the, association kept going with concerts at the Dunois theatre, in 1980 and 1981, it welcomed old hands and new recruits (Bernard Vitet, Jean-Jacques Avenel, Jacques Thollot, Sylvain Kassap...). If 'Vol. 4 - Jo Maka' is an homage to the Guinean saxophonist, who passed away a few months before the release of this selection of concert recordings, it also displays a proud collective inspiration! One foot in the blues, and ears open to everything else, Tusques begins with a lament that the Company rapidly transforms into a joyful dance ('Vive La Commune'), weaves a full-blown party piece ('Poses Ton Fardeau Et Remets La Machine En Route,' '7 Rue Des Prêcheurs,' 'Mazir') or gets fabulous with Mingus ('Fable Of Faubus'). And there you have it, with so many revolutions François Tusques is almost back to free jazz. So, your turn with the turntable!

RSD 2025 release. In 1962, black music was making its transition from R&B to soul and the Chicago music industry was exploding, producing thousands of records and dozens of new labels. The two biggest black labels Vee-Jay and Chess led in the creation of the distinctive, smooth, Chicago soul brand with names familiar and not so familiar: the former with Curtis Mayfield and Jerry Butler and the latter with Mitty Collier, Etta James and Billy Stewart. And yet it's the smaller labels that make up the bulk of the Chicago story: Hawk with Geraldine Taylor, Lu-Cee with Roberta, M-Pac with Dorothy Prince and it's here that we explore some of the finest sounds of the era in this collection. Extensive liner notes written by Robert Pruter, author of the acclaimed 'Chicago Soul.'

Released for RSD 2025! Following the departure of Wire's drummer Robert Grey, in 1990, WIR had risen phoenix-like from the ashes of the acclaimed UK post-punk band. In 1993 the band recorded a radio session for the Austrian national broadcaster ORF, which was originally released on CD in 1996. Now it's also available on vinyl, with remastered sound and a newly recorded, Taylor Swift style re-recording of what is undoubtedly WIR's most pop moment, the dark brooding shadows of 'So And Slow'.
