a searching quality to Bhajan Bhoy, as if Saggar is still hunting for transcendence with each track, whether through an expansive drone, an orchestral facility on the piano, or an electronics-augmented raga that threatens to dip into noise." The songs were broadcast as part of a session on Steve Barker's 'On The Wire' radio show in April 2024. They were a gift to Steve and his team for 40 years of broadcasting. Hailing from Alkmaar at the west-coast of Holland, del-Toros release their follow-up to their vinyl album '10 Stories High' which was released in 2018. del-Toros is in love with vinyl and it shows. Over the past 16 years of their existence the band never released something that sounded like their previous work. 'Stainless' is again the living proof of that and it's the first recording as a four piece with keyboardist Dylan Does. You can hear that the band clearly moves to a more experimental sound and plays with lots of dynamics. From a quiet, subliminally exciting sounding middle section to a very heavy outburst. But mainly, it tells a story to anyone who allows himself to be carried away.

Fifth Daughter are new to Fruits de Mer, 'Stellar Season' is their first LP; they describe themselves as progressive/psychedelic rock and their music as an "eclectic mix of prog, psych and acid folk, very much inspired by the likes of Jade Warrior, Jimmie Spheeris, VdGG and Incredible String Band"... They are a duo (what's this with FdM and duos?) - Nicholas Whittaker and James Howarth; Nick is best known as a member of the highly-rated progressive rock band Diagonal, while James was a member of Running Dogs, and has collaborated with the KLF and Martin "Youth" Glover; his last live performance was a headlining slot at Ronnie Scott's, on bass.
'Stellar Season' was conceived as a loose concept album during one of the covid lockdowns, with Whittaker sketching out the basics of a story about a rural society far from Earth whose obsession with summer leads to an endless day that they soon regret, learning to appreciate the rhythm of the seasons in the process. Knowing the talent of his old friend as a songwriter and bassist, Whittaker brought Howarth in to collaborate on the songs. The recordings were completed over several sessions from 2021 to 2023. The album features fellow Diagonal band members Luke Foster and Dave Wileman as well as ambient guitarist Will Howes. The album explores a range of emotions, from tender to euphoric; it's instrumentally adventurous, featuring exotic percussion, sitar and synthesisers alongside acoustic guitars, woodwinds and vocals.

Second VHF solo LP from the Pelt/Black Twigs mainstay, following 2022's acclaimed 'Evening Measures.' 'April Is Passing' builds on the striking solo Hardanger-style fiddle performances on the previous LP to take the music even further out, with deep drones and extended techniques defining a vocabulary that is Americana-adjacent, but a unique and special sound that Mike is pursuing almost alone. Joined on selected tracks by Cara Gangloff's sruti and Kaily Shenker's sonorous cello, the all-original, all-live performances are resonant with both overt melody and a cloud of thick string overtones, whether on the more upbeat tunes like 'Ironto Dancer' or the epic 11+ minute LP closer 'Helen's Song.' 'September Air' is a mournful slow build, the fiddle embroidering a minor-key melody over the drone of the Surti box and a low cello counter point. 'A Fallen Palace Of Snowville' is a solo performance where the additional sympathetic strings of the hardanger fiddle are strongly heard as a ghostly accompaniment, as Mike's elegant melody switches back and forth from minor to major. 'Helen's Song' closes side 2 with a complex, ever-changing swirl of melodic and harmonic invention, with Mike's keening, languorous bowing leading the way through multiple moods and sounds.

The origins of the Garybaldi date back to 1965, and with their debut album in 1971 they gave birth to a unique and very important work in the Italian prog scene. UNGRAVEN - HOLLOWS MADE HOMES IN THEIR SUNKEN CHEEKS
2025 album of the psychedelic doom drone duo Ungraven, featuring members of Conan. 'Hollows Made Homes In Their Sunken Cheeks' came into existence as a result of Jon's wishes to take the Ungraven sound somewhere other than a standard 'rock band' setup. Moving away from the traditional 'drums/bass/guitar' structure has allowed Ungraven to experiment further with both sound and composition. 'Hollows...' Is an experiment in sonics and allows both Davis and Perry to perform a sickening sonic duet as their respective instruments carve a universe shaped hole in your consciousness. Inspired by the duo's past collaborations on Conan tracks such as 'Older Than Earth' and 'Grief Sequence' as well as artists such as Tangerine Dream, Circle, Zombi and Harold Budd. 'Hollows...' is a combination of composed and improvised elements, constructed remotely from their bases in England and Denmark. The addition of Perry's synth, organ and piano to Davis's slab like 6 string delivery has produced two epics that are both introspective and pummelling at the same time. Fall untethered into a bleak and expansive soundscape of psychedelic terror, experience a new chapter in Ungraven's tome of tone.

6th vinyl edition on transparant silver vinyl. Traitrs are a Toronto-based band comprised of Sean-Patrick Nolan and Shawn Tucker. Initially conceived primarily as a recording project, they rapidly amassed a collection of demos that caught the attention of Toronto producer Josh Korody (Dilly Dally, Beliefs, Moon King, Fucked Up), and began working with him during sessions at his Candle Studios in January of 2016. With Korody's guidance the band set about expanding their sound, adding textural depth to their arrangements and weight to their rhythm section, transforming their stripped-down home recordings into a collection of propulsive, goth-influenced post-punk that immediately recalls acts like Sisters Of Mercy, Bauhaus and 'Pornography'-era Cure.

Josh Graham, known for his work with A Storm Of Light, Battle Of Mice, and Neurosis, has formed Guiltless, a band with Sacha Dunable (Intronaut), Billy Graves (Generation Of Vipers), and Dan Hawkins (A Storm Of Light). Their debut EP 'Thorns' (2024) channeled apocalyptic themes with Graham's focused vision. Now, Guiltless has expanded their sound with 'Teeth To Sky,' a collaborative full-length album blending crushing influences like Meshuggah, Kiss It Goodbye, and The Jesus Lizard. Tracks like 'One Is Two' and 'In Starless Reign' merge dissonant black metal, doom, and noise rock, while the title track reflects on nature's vengeance. Recorded remotely, mixed by Kurt Ballou, and mastered by Brad Boatright, 'Teeth To Sky' is a more pulverizing and dynamic effort from the band.

Born out of the early 1980's Austin noise punk scene, Scratch Acid deliberately eschewed the loud, fast rules of hardcore as everything they didn't want to be and embraced a weirder, artier sound. Prior to the release of their 1984 debut S/T EP, someone gave Touch and Go Records owner Corey Rusk a cassette of the recording, and he was instantly a huge fan. Rusk was immediately interested in releasing the EP and contacted the band to express his admiration. At the time, Scratch Acid had already committed to working with Rabid Cat Records, who released the band's debut release S/T EP (1984) and their only full-length album, 'Just Keep Eating' (1986). The group quickly developed a riveting performance aesthetic, and, as the debut S/T EP made its way around the country via fanzines, college radio, and word-of-mouth, the band mounted short tours to the Midwest and the East Coast. After playing a total of 146 shows, Scratch Acid broke up after the long tour that followed the release of the 'Berserker' EP (Touch and Go Records, 1987). Since that time, the band have had many imitators, and many alternative bands have cited Scratch Acid as one of their influences. Comes on white vinyl.

Born out of the early 1980's Austin noise punk scene, Scratch Acid deliberately eschewed the loud, fast rules of hardcore as everything they didn't want to be and embraced a weirder, artier sound. The band's eventual permanent line-up consisted of David Yow on vocals, Brett Bradford on guitar, David Wm. Sims on bass, and Rey Washam on drums. During their brief existence from 1982 to 1987, the band released 3 records, including a full-length album ('Just Keep Eating') and two EPs ('Scratch Acid,' 'Berserker'). Remastered by Bob Weston at Chicago Mastering Service, this box set includes 180-gram clear LP pressings of all three releases as well as a 24-page booklet featuring exclusive behind-the-scenes photos, liner notes by David Yow, Brett Bradford, and photographer/journalist Pat Blashill, as well as full-color paintings by contemporary artist Mark Todd from the same era as the cover art for the S/T EP and 'Berserker' releases. In addition, this limited Scratch Acid box set includes an exclusive clear vinyl 7" with both tracks the band contributed to the 1986 Touch and Go Records compilation, 'God's Favorite Dog.' The 7-inch includes cover art by Mark Todd as well. Limited to 2000 copies.

This work was the result of sessions and collaborations with Arabian musicians, with an inclination towards the 'world music' that was gaining attention at the time. Deployed often in pop culture as punchline, Hosono takes such sight-seeing and transforms it into a metaphor for sample-heavy electronic music, drawing from various cultures and weaving them together into a new holistic vision. 'Omni Sight Seeing' is the clearest iteration of this concept, as he alights on Algerian raï, Martin Denny exotica, and acid house, too. It's one part Jon Hassell-esque 'Fourth World,' one part Duke Ellington "jungle music," with Hosono's singular outlook running through it all. Originally released in 1989.

Few copies available again! Born in a nomad camp in Niger and now a leading figure of desert rock, Mdou Moctar stands out as the most innovative artist in contemporary Saharan music. His unconventional interpretations of Tuareg guitar have pushed him to the forefront of a crowded scene. In contrast to polished "world music" fare, Mdou trades in unrelenting grit and has no qualms about going full shred. A long time coming, 'Ilana' is Mdou's first true studio album. Recorded in Detroit at the tail end of a US tour by engineer Chris Koltay (who met after bonding over ZZ Top's 'Tres Hombres'), Mdou lived in studio for a week, playing into the early hours and accompanied by an all-star band: Ahmoudou Madassane's (Les Filles de Illighadad) lighting fast rhythm guitar, Aboubacar Mazawadje's machine gun drums, and Michael Coltun's structured low-end bass. The result is Mdou's most ambitious record to date, taking tradition into into an ever louder and blistering direction. From the rock anthem 'Tarhatazed,' to the Van Halen tapping of 'Kamane Tarhanin,' 'Ilana' stands amongst the greats of classic rock, albeit accidentally. "I don't know what rock is, I have no idea," he says, "I only know how to play my style."
