At the end of January 1971 lead vocalist Linda Hoyle and organist Lynton Naiff left Affinity, instead of going separate ways, the other three members recruited vocalist Vivienne McAuliffe (Principal Edwards Magic Theatre) and ex-Tornados keyboardist Dave Watts. Reminiscent at times of Sandy Denny, Vivienne's voice was a natural addiction to the new incarnation of the band, focusing on a more folksy direction.

'The Crazy World Of Arthur Brown' is the debut studio album by the English rock band The Crazy World Of Arthur Brown. Released in the United Kingdom in June 1968 by Track Records and in the United States in September 1968 through Atlantic, the album was an international success, propelled by the transatlantic hit single 'Fire.' It was the only album released during the Crazy World's original incarnation. A psychedelic soul album, its style is defined by frontman Arthur Brown's wide-ranging theatrical vocals and mystical lyrics, with the first side of the original LP comprising a conceptual song cycle known as 'The Fire Suite.' The album's sound and Brown's stage act influenced subsequent musicians such as David Bowie, Peter Gabriel, Alice Cooper, and even George Clinton. Released on pink vinyl.

The new work proved so popular with fans and critics alike that he wrote another adaptation, this time for solo piano, entitled 'Yessonata,' which he performed on his Final One Man Solo Tour of North and South America. The piece contains more than 30 musical fragments of Yes music that Rick was a part of. Again, it was so well-received that it was decided to make it available on limited edition vinyl. TURQUOISE - THE RETURN OF CAPTAIN SPEED
Originally known as Captain Speed, Turquoise was a psychedelic rock band from Southern California who were managed by pioneering Tri-counties concert promoter Jim Salzer, who also operated the legendary Arcade Record Shop. Their sound was 100% psychedelic with swirling baroque organ, trippy guitar fills and driving percussion, all topped off by front man and Jim Morrison's lookalike Tim Pearson's lysergic lyrics. Turquoise shared stage with big names like Grateful Dead, The Doors, Jefferson Airplane, Country Joe & The Fish, The Seeds, The Strawberry Alarm Clock, Jimi Hendrix, and many others. During 1967-68, they recorded two 45s for Jim Salzer's Arcade label and they also laid down material for a planned LP that was never released... until now. Featuring keyboard player Bill Payne, who later went on be a founding member of Little Feat.
Remastered from the original master tapes by Alec Palao. Including their two rare 45s plus eight previously unreleased tracks, 1967-68 and an insert with liner notes by Gray Newell (Ugly Things/Shindig!) and rare photos/memorabilia. Recommended if you like The Doors, The Strawberry Alarm Clock, Country Joe & The Fish, Love, Iron Butterfly.

Big Crown Records is proud to present Derya Yildirim & Grup Simsek's 2025 album 'Yarin Yoksa.' The show stopping intensity of Derya backed by the psychedelic soul of Grup Simsek with production by Leon Michels has yielded a stand out record that challenges genre with a broad appeal and a powerful message.
They refer to themselves as "outernational" over international as they say it suggests a sound that's more inclusive or "beyond borders." Derya, who sings and plays the baglama, is German born to Turkish parents. Drummer Helen Wells is Berlin-based by way of South Africa while keyboard player Graham Mushnik and guitar/bass player Antonin Voyant are both French. The collective influences they bring to Anatolian music make for a completely unique and fresh sound that both pushes the genre forward and champions its rich heritage. 'Yarin Yoksa' which translates to 'If There Is No Tomorrow' delves into deeply personal pain and collective resistance with a central thread of loss, longing, and hope for change running throughout. The lyrics are poetic and rely heavily on symbolic language, metaphors, and storytelling while the music shifts track to track making each tune stand out on its own but work together perfectly as an album.

'HISTORY OF EAST EUROPEAN PUNK ROCK' - The Eastern Bloc, also known as the Communist Bloc, the Socialist Bloc, and the Soviet Bloc, was the coalition of communist states of Eastern Europe that were aligned with the Soviet Union and existed during the Cold War (1947-1991). The resulting states aspired to total control of a political center backed by an extensive and active repressive apparatus, and a central role of Marxist-Leninist ideology. 50 years ago young band called The Ramones in fact became the first punk band due to them fulfilling the criteria of the sound, the style and the attitude. Another 50 years have passed and after an unbelievable long time East European punk rock finally found their way into vinyl records series inspired by classic compilations like 'Killed By Death' and 'Bloodstains Across...'. Before punk rock entered East Europe a few bands existed who are now considered proto-punk or these bands influenced the very first punk bands with their music, energy and attitude. So before first issue of classic punk bands here on number #0 you will find various "proto" bands which were created during authoritarian regime and gave rebellion and strength to young punks to form their own bands. Nils Lofgren is an American rock musician, recording artist, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist. Along with his work as a solo artist, he has been a member of Bruce Springsteen's E Street Band since 1984, a member of Crazy Horse, and founder/frontman of the band Grin. Lofgren was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of the E Street Band in 2014. He has also carved out a successful solo career. RAINY DAY - RAINY DAY
Rainy Day was an album released in 1984 on the now-defunct indie label Enigma. It consisted of cover songs performed by various musicians from California's so-called "Paisley Underground" scene. This loose collective was assembled by David Roback, who was then a member of Rain Parade and later of Opal and Mazzy Star. Other participants included Roback's Rain Parade mates (brother Stephen Roback, Matthew Piucci, Will Glenn) and members of the then-little-known Bangles (Susanna Hoffs and Vicki Peterson), the Dream Syndicate (Kendra Smith, Dennis Duck, Karl Precoda), and the Three O'Clock (Michael Quercio). The songs that were chosen indicated the influences that were generally shared by bands from that scene; not only is a Velvet Underground song covered, but also one by Big Star, and two by the Buffalo Springfield which both happen to be Neil Young compositions. Some other selections are old folk songs which are best remembered as Byrds and Beach Boys recordings. Hendrix and the Who also made the list.

Chaz Bear, formerly Bundick, grew up in a musically diverse household in South Carolina, drawing influence from artists like Michael Jackson and The Specials. His genre-blending style, shaped by his biracial identity and eclectic taste, earned him a Grammy nomination in 2020 for his collaboration with Flume on 'The Difference.' Starting with home recordings, Chaz released over 10 Toro y Moi albums independently before joining Carpark Records in 2009. Recorded during a 2020 residency in Tenerife, this release features the duo of Carlos Godinho and Mestre André collaborating with tropical druids Lagoss. CHALK, ANDREW - DIORAMAS
On Andrew Chalk's 2025 album for An'archives, 'Dioramas,' he returns to the art of the miniaturist, after the long-form exploration of 2024's 'Songs Of The Sea.' It's an appropriate mode of address given the title - each of these fifteen pieces indeed feels like a replica of a specific scene, rendered in miniature. As with much of Chalk's music, they set out to explore humble terrain, a thread of melody in slow motion, or a weave of texture, sometimes in aquatic repose, moving like slow tides. There's a becalmed warmth to much of 'Dioramas,' along with some curious developments: a pronounced folksy lilt to the melody that's turned over and over, like a jewel slowly spinning on a dial, in 'The Carrach,' the lush churchiness of the organ in the hymnal 'The Changes,' the stretched strings that quiver and whisper on the closing 'Lonely House.' These subtle changes can seem profound at first blush, but they simply highlight aspects of Chalk's music that we sometimes miss; they eventually settle into the scenery. Limited to 350 copies in offset jacket with obi, large insert and postcard.

Drawing inspiration from composers like La Monte Young, Eliane Radigue, Jürg Frey and Arvo Pärt, Garcia integrates elements of sacral minimalism and acoustic experimentation into her work. The result is a project that bridges improvisation and

Ghédalia Tazartès left us in February 2021 when Bisou Records had just finalized the editing and the cover art of his new album with him. Unfortunately he will never see the finished object. This record is therefore particularly important for them. He opened his archives to us so that we could select unpublished pieces with him and organize them in two long suites. This work took almost two years (finding the pieces among dozens of sometimes very old CD-Rs, checking that these pieces had not already been published, processing the sound to obtain an aesthetic unity and a coherent order, etc). This record is therefore a melting pot of unreleased tracks which cover a large part of his career. You can hear a few guests perform on some of the tracks (mostly vocals parts). As for the lyrics, apart from Ghédalia's own personal poetry, he wrote music for two texts by different poets, that he performs himself in a more or less comical way or on the contrary very intense (the final on a text by Antonin Artaud)! About the cover. During an art exhibition in 2018, Ghédalia really loved a series of photographs by Isabelle Magnon and immediately asked to use them for the cover of a future album. It is therefore these three photos (two for the LP version) which illustrate Ghédalia Tazartès' final album.

"Almost 20 years ago I was a cinema producer overloaded with engagements. A very adventurous period of my life, always taking off for a different cinematic set, leaving behind a trail of adrenaline which was giving me a lot, but the time for a pause came. I needed some time for myself and music, as it happened many times in my life, helped me. In that moment of great introspection I had the idea of this album dedicated to the songs which faithfully accompanied me, for all my life, a tribute to my favorite cues performed through my emotional filter. Tenco, Gaber, Armstrong, Baglioni, De André, Paoli, Brel, Battisti and Guido & Maurizio. I spent many nights in studio in order to give life to this selection to which now I'm really fond of, through it I relive a life of musical emotions with a first person interpretation. I still remember the sound of silence, nighttime when going back home from the studio, full of emotions. My emotions, nothing more than feelings, for a dreamer." ~Guido de Angelis.

'Ornette!' is the seventh album by Ornette Coleman as a bandleader and the second credited to his quartet (following 'This Is Our Music'). Though considered one of his early works, by the time it was recorded on 31st January 1961, Coleman was already an established jazz legend. His reputation had been cemented by the release of ground-breaking albums such as 'The Shape Of Jazz To Come' and 'Free Jazz.' These two albums embody the central, seemingly contrasting, elements of Coleman's early career: a meticulously crafted approach to melodic innovation and free improvisation, often with only minimal pre-determined structure. 'Ornette!' bridges these two aspects, leaning more towards the former with its focus on melodic exploration, while still incorporating elements of Coleman's characteristic spontaneity.

DAVIS, MILES - COLLECTORS' ITEMS
When Ira Gitler, jazz journalist and producer at Prestige, curated this album, the term "collector" was already well-established among music enthusiasts. The pursuit of out-of-print recordings, old 78 rpm discs, and unreleased material had reached an intensity comparable to the fervor seen in the vinyl-collecting market decades later. Gitler aimed to offer jazz fans unreleased Prestige recordings while meeting expectations for the amount of music on an LP. Initially dismissed as a mere compilation, the album has since been re-evaluated for its historical and musical importance.
Recorded on January 30, 1953, this session captures the only known recorded collaboration between Charlie Parker (credited as "Charlie Chan" due to contractual constraints) and Sonny Rollins on tenor saxophones. The session's raw authenticity emerges from the palpable tensions between the musicians. Miles Davis had originally joined Charlie Parker's quintet as a teenager, performing regularly between 1945 and 1948. However, in this session, the roles were reversed, with Davis now leading the recording while the seasoned Parker (alongside Sonny Rollins) delivered a stellar performance. Highlights include the two takes of 'The Serpent's Tooth,' showcasing Parker's brilliance despite his erratic behaviour during the session. Accounts describe Parker treating Davis dismissively, consuming large quantities of vodka, and even falling asleep in the studio. Parker's erratic behavior -combined with Davis's own struggles- infused the recordings with a vital, almost desperate energy. The second session, recorded on March 16, 1956, presents a markedly different musical landscape. By this time, Parker had passed away, and Davis had signed with Columbia Records. The 1956 session reveals a transformed Miles Davis, his playing more assured and sophisticated. Tommy Flanagan's contributions are particularly noteworthy, his flowing style and lyrical touch drawing comparisons to the great Hank Jones. The rhythm section, anchored by Paul Chambers and Art Taylor, provides a more refined foundation that would become characteristic of Davis's later work. 'Vierd Blues' emerges as a masterful demonstration of modern jazz's connection to its roots, with Rollins delivering one of his most eloquent recorded solos. The interpretation of Dave Brubeck's 'In Your Own Sweet Way' showcases a gentler yet still intense approach, more deeply bluesy than the version Davis would later record with John Coltrane. The album stands as a crucial document of jazz's evolution during the 1950s, capturing both the raw energy of the bebop era and the sophisticated developments that would follow. What began as a commercial compilation has emerged as an essential testament to a pivotal moment in American musical history, when the urgent innovations of bebop were giving way to the more contemplative approaches that would define the music's future.

All tracks on this compilation were recorded and released in Turkey between 1970-1977 and culled from Koray's personal
vinyl collection. Includes exclusive photos and remastered audio. An iconic guitar and songwriting genius. A voice of gold - having founded the country's first ever rock and roll group in 1957, he is regarded worldwide as the father of Turkish rock. Forging western sounds with his own inimitable musical mastery, he self-produced singles and LPs throughout the 1960s and 1970s that shook and altered Turkish society. Erkin didn't stop at rock and roll. Over time, he began to find inspiration in folk sounds from Turkey's Anatolian interior, and radio broadcasts received from Egypt and Lebanon. He looked to the east from his west-leaning Istanbul perch, and began incorporating these sounds into his own work.

This is the first vinyl LP ever released featuring a woman playing the rudra veena. Madhuvanti Pal is from Kolkata India, teaches the rudra veena and builds her own instruments. Very few recordings of the rudra veena have been released. This is for a number of reasons, including that the rudra veena is notoriously difficult to capture in recorded form. Instead of traveling to a studio and availing technicians more accustomed to modern instrument needs, these recordings have been made in Madhuvanti's apartment. In preparing the album, she has used her own equipment to record, mix, and master each raga. Limited edition double LP spanning over 90 minutes in length with full color gatefold with extensive liner notes inside.
