A collective whose recordings where in part due to the sad passing of Tibor Strauzs (a passionate Hungarian musician) - who over a lifetime as a recording musician had collected some of the best recording equipment available. Tibor's son David was tasked with safekeeping all this equipment he felt the best way to test all this equipment was with a monumental jam session at Psychedelic Source Studios. ::nepaal was formed from that session and the title sums up the essence of this project - eastern psychedelic wisdom, far-out improvisation, the legacy of a good man and the crystallisation of decades of musical friendship. So over 2 LP's get ready for head spinning jams where you can start to feel the universe expand and contract with the vibrations that emit from the grooves cut into these slabs of vinyl. It is a truly a special feeling to be immersed in the wonderfully explosive, difficult to predict and utterly mind-melting psychedelic mantra of sounds and harmony created by ::nepaal - a place guaranteed to illuminate many tunnels of spiralling trip-time. First official release of this one-of-a-kind gem by Argentinean progmeisters Alas, in a strictly limited edition of 300 copies, with a newly designed (and band-approved) back cover. 'Pinta Tu Aldea,' recorded in 1977, and formerly released by EMI in 1983, belongs to the cohort of outstanding artworks that sound as fresh and relevant today, as when they were originally recorded. Here, Alas digress from their ELP-esque affinities which permeate their debut album, in quest for a unique sound that would blend for the first time the avant tango idiom of Piazzolla with the multilayered prog arrangements of Gustavo Moretto, with a helping hand from Carlos Riganti and Pedro Aznar. 'Pinta Tu Aldea' laid the very foundational building block of an eclectic sub-genre, namely, avant-tango/prog jazz and folk fusion. This has nothing to do with tango for purist tango lovers, obviously, but with a freeform adaptation of tango instrumentation and composition paths to the exigencies of to the exigencies of progrock in conversation with jazz-fusion, folk and electronics, culminating in an expressionist landscape of unparalleled virtuosity, a bedazzling puzzle of motifs that might be rearranged ad infinitum in a maze of ever-shifting porous boundaries. This is hardly tango you can dance to, but surely tango to headbang to, inasmuch as cabaret metal might hardly qualify for cabaret enthusiasts. This is tango's unabashed unfettering from its formalist constraints and its squirmish takeover in a hybrid cosmopolitan appropriation.

Across their previous seven releases the Nanaimo, BC Canada-based instrumental duo Anunnaki have explored such intriguing sources of inspiration as Hermeticism, Japanese UFO folklore, and beckoning the Apocalypse. These topics considered, it will surprise few that on their EP 'Martyr Of Alexandria', the bicephalic psych-drone-rock powerhouse have turned their exploratory gaze to specific events that occurred in 5th century Alexandria. Indeed, having named themselves for mythological Sumerian deities, Dave Read (Moths & Locusts) and Arlen Thompson (Wolf Parade) suggest an intent to operate as wide-eyed sonic archeologists on a quest for truths both musical and spiritual, and as such are delving deeper and deeper into their historical fascinations with each successive release. With three brain-melting tracks occupying 30 minutes, on 'Martyr Of Alexandria; Read (basses/guitars/synths/effects) and Thompson (drums/synths/samples) have crafted a visceral aural tapestry examining the harrowing demise of Hypatia, a pagan philosopher, astronomer, and mathematician known in her day as a teacher possessed of great wisdom. As a victim of accusatory rumours emanating from a complex religiopolitical situation at a violent time in history, Hypatia was martyred following her brutal end at the hands of an incited, rabid Christian mob in 415 AD: 1,606 years on, Anunnaki pay tribute.

The last we heard from Stephen Bailey was in May 2018, when he released his debut album 'Silo', a sprawling collection of warped psych-pop that zigzagged between classic '60s rock and eerie freak folk, and served as an impressive introduction into his expansive sound. It has been a little bit of a break, although he certainly hasn't been resting on his laurels, as he also fronts Perth heavy-hitters Mt. Mountain. '9' picks up where 'Silo' left off, creating a familiar sense of warmth and lushness, however, this time around things feel more considered, compared to the lo-fi bedroom psych pop nature of 'Silo'. Led by woozy keys that constantly stab over a laid-back drum and bass grooves while grainy guitar chords chime in as instruments leave plenty of space for Stephen's warbly voice to cut through, up close and delicate, as he weaves the track's strongest hooks almost effortlessly. Expressions of indecisiveness towards love, misinterpretation and happiness in isolation litter the lyrics of '9' creating a introspective mood that suck you further into the lush atmosphere of Stephen's recordings.

This album is an interpretation of the different stages that constitute the death of a supernova, as well as the hypothesis of the heat death of the universe. Both of these hypothesis stem from the second law of thermodynamics, which states that entropy tends to increase in an isolated system. If this system lasts enough, eventually energy would evenly dissipate, cooling it off. Compared to the previous album, 'Entropy Death' constitutes a more hardcore punk approach to kraut rock, along with a few other unorthodox rhythmic sections that give the album a singular yet original grit. 'Entropy Death' was composed, arranged and recorded at home with the help of Gustavo Jimenez on drums and Sergio Florean on electric guitar.
'Entropy Death' is De la Mora's 2nd solo album. Emitting from
Guadalajara, De la Mora's endeavour is to create futuristic landscapes that could be played in alien surgery rooms, spaceship pursuits, Martian extreme sports events, et al.
These compositions are being presented live as a group named El Nuevo Conjunto Musical de Fabriccio de la Mora (the new musical group of Fabriccio de la Mora), that includes the support of
the artists Gustavo Jimenez, Sergio Florean, Erick A. Torres, Alberto Ortiz, and Fausto Arellano. Limited to 250 copies on orange vinyl.

Debut album by an Englishman in Vienna. The trance and cosmic power on these songs perfectly fit into the Sulatron philosophy. Dim Electrics is an occasional music project based in Vienna, Austria, that began in 2014 to explore a long held interest in psychedelic guitar music. Formed in 1966, The Electric Prunes had a novel approach to being a band: deciding to be a recording unit rather than a live performance band. Guitar effects drip and splatter throughout (the band had landed an endorsement deal with Vox, who were the leaders in wild effects pedals at that time), and they laid into the material with brute force (and the occasional gentle touch). Any artist with the nerve to take on such a challenge was bound to appeal to Fruits de Mer, and with Rob Gould he already had 'history'... on the back of the 'Rob Gould Plays Pawn Hearts' LP, released through FdM in the summer of 2021, Rob had the idea of doing a follow-up album, covering another of his all-time favourite bands; but, which one? Over to Rob...
"'Nursery Cryme' had been a huge influence on me as a late-teen, and has stayed with me throughout my life as a musician, as have many of the earlier Genesis albums. But it was 'Nursery Cryme' in particular that I felt I knew best, having probably listened to it more than any other; another factor in choosing it over perhaps 'Foxtrot' or 'Selling England By The Pound,' was it seemed (not so in hindsight) infinitely more playable than the other Genesis classics.
In stark contrast to 'Pawn Hearts,' where I felt there was a lot of room for my own interpretation of the three epic songs on that album, with Genesis - summed up by the understated quote of Michael Rutherford - "If you play all the right notes, then the songs will sound quite good" - there was less room for improvisation, and I knew I had to get 'all the right notes' as close to the original versions as much as possible, albeit with my own unavoidingly personal style, and the unique feel and sounds of my friends. Over a period of weeks/months even, I painstakingly recorded a 'basic' template of each song... tempo maps, chords and notes, and added as any parts as I could in readiness for my musician friends to add their parts."

'Be As Good To Others As They Are Not To You' starts as a mystery. A piece of tangible vinyl with often transient and evanescent content; sound appearing and fading such that you can lose certainty as to whether it emanates from the record or from out in the street. The music measured and atmospheric; a rural psychedelia on the cusp between folk and country; gnomic lyrics, meditating on loss as a stage in the cycle of nature, with a strong impression of a patient, unforced gestation.
The sleeve has a stark beauty; the front being a fine piece of John Hurford frontier art, akin to that of Jeff Horsey's 'Rattlesnakes And Heartstrings.' There is no legend and nothing on the spine either. The back shows two rustic, bearded gentlemen with small guitar, a pump organ, and an ancient zither; there are song titles but they're barely decipherable.
This pair are Jens Unossun and Arne Jonasson. Jens is a founder member of The Spacious Mind, a notable Swedish ensemble who, for nigh on three decades, have been releasing memorable psychedelic music. They famously accompanied Tom Rapp, of Pearls Before Swine, at his Terrastock appearance in London in 1999. Jonasson is a regular collaborator with Jens on such side-trips as The Holy River Family Band. They're the sole performers on six of the eight tracks here; Jens singing and playing keyboards, Arne on various stringed instruments, and both adding percussion. The other two - 'Sweet Home Blues (Redneck Dumbfuck Blues)' and 'Green Was The Day (Bottom Of The Well)' - see them joined by the Head Country Hoedowners - Snosun and Aarnson Jones, Black Owl, and Dave Hell - and the presence of these acclaimed purveyors of outlaw mutation boogie signal changes in mood. The Jones Brothers also serve as producers and arrangers.

The line up at the time of recording/releasing this debut album 'Aftermath' consists of Hayato Izawa (vocal), Yutaro Umemoto (guitar) and Yuichi Umemoto (drums). The band has been influenced by psychedelic rock, krautrock, folk music and free jazz. But Kevin are less full on psych-rock than some of their Japanese contemporaries (and new label mates) like Acid Mothers Temple, Mainliner and Hibushibire. The strong krautrock influence is more prominent in their unique sound. Taking influence from the likes of Can and This Heat. Their sound was initially based on noise music. Repress! The fifth studio album and last euphoric mind-trip to Kikagaku Moyo's imagined island. Best-suited for counting stars, looking at the ocean, and dancing in one's daydream. In many ways 'Kumoyo Island' represents the culmination of a journey for Kikagaku Moyo. While their decade-long career can be summarized as a series of kaleidoscopic explorations through lands and dimensions far and near, there's a strong intention in each of their works to take the listener to a particular place, however real or abstract they may be. In that sense, the title and cover art for the band's fifth and final album draws you into a magical mass of land surrounded by water... but the couch suggests that 'Kumoyo Island'may not be a fleeting stop, but rather a place of respite, where one could pause and take it all in. Reconvening at Tsubame Studios in Asakusabashi, Tokyo, where their earliest material had been recorded, the five members of Kikagaku Moyo found new inspiration in a familiar and comfortable environment. With their adopted homebase of Amsterdam under lockdown and their touring activities halted due to the pandemic, the band felt a renewed sense of freedom being back in Shitamachi, or the old downtown area of their hometown. With unrestricted time in the studio, they began to build upon the demos and song fragments they'd amassed since their last tour. In the 1.5 months spent in Tokyo, everything started to come together. 'Monaka,' its name taken from a type of Japanese wafer sweets, takes melodic inspiration from traditional minyofolk styles, while 'Yayoi Iyayoi' is a rare instance of the band singing in their native tongue, its evocative lyrics utilizing archaic words taken from old poetry and nature books found in one of the many second-hand bookstores of Tokyo. For 'Meu Mar,' an Erasmos Carlos cover, the original Portuguese lyrics were translated into English, then to Japanese. Strangely enough, the words seem to conjure an image of the protagonist floating among the clouds, looking down upon Tokyo Bay. In fact, it may be possible to draw a parallel between the topography of the band's home country... an island nation, surrounded by bodies of water... and the mysterious isle of Kumoyo. Are they one and the same? Has the band finally made it back home? It's up to the listener to decide..

Makajodama is the unusual name for this young instrumental quartet from Sweden. The band was formed by Mathias Danielsson, guitarist for the progressive rock band Gösta Berlings Saga. In the course of searching for another avenue to express his own musical ideas he met Mattias Ankarbrandt, the former drummer of The Carpet Knights. Their goal was to blend both written and improvised music. Through the walls of the cellar of Mathias' rehearsal studio, he could hear someone practice violin everyday, and since some of his new ideas included strings he decided to find out who the player was. After a month searching, they located their man Johan Klint who immediately joined Mattias and Mathias. As luck would have it Johan knew a cellist, Karin Larsdotter, who was also interested in improvisation as well and she came onboard, rounding out the quartet. The band invited Anekdoten's guitarist, Nicklas Barker, to mix the album. Makajodama's debut is a direct reflection of the quartet's influences: Third Ear Band, Univers Zero, Swedish psych pioneers Älgarnas Trädgård, the kraut rock spirit of Can and Faust, and Swedish contemporary composers Karl-Birger Blomdahl and Allan Pettersson. The result is a unique collision of progressive and post rock that sounds like the musical offspring of early King Crimson and Godspeed You! Black Emperor. Limited to 300 copies on black vinyl.

'CV Sessions' are a combination of the time of the coronavirus and the equipment Sula used in these times, which is analog gear connected and modulated with CV cables (control voltage). Double meaning. Sula used a bunch of small analog synthesizers, drummachines, sequencers, a polyphonic synth, a string ensemble, a casio SK 1 & SK 60, Stylophone x1, guitars, a bass, Mellotron and whatever. Recorded simply and never spending much time on it. The first track was recorded late March 2020, others followed until December. All music composed, performed, recorded and mixed by Sula Bassana (Dave Schmidt) in his bedroom. Mastered by Eroc. Coverdesign by Sula. Limited to 500 copies on hazy red vinyl. Sula did it again. An album recorded in 3 evenings. This time some 'Loop Station Drones'. With guitar, effect pedals, 2 loop stations, 2 guitar amps, a syncable drum computer, a very old organ from GDR (Weltmeister TO 200/5), a very old synthesizer (Roland SH 5) and a modern one (Roland SE-02) Sula instantly composed 7 tracks. Later Sula cutted them down a little and made some very little overdubs. 'Roadburn Haze' was exclusively made for the Roadburn Festival Redux in April 2021. Recorded on the 28th of March, together with tracks 2 and 7. Tracks 3-6 recorded on the 13th and 14th of May for Radio KFJC home stream-concert. But only the first 3 of them appeared. These were filmed by Thierry Miguet for Wah Wah TV and you can watch it at his great Youtube channel.

Acid Mammoth's third full-length album was conceived, recorded and produced during a state of total lockdown due to Covid-19, therefore it greatly reflects the duo's mood during these dark times. It is a heavy, sublime and pitch black journey into the vast unknown. Like all of their previous works, 'Caravan' was recorded, mixed and mastered with Dionysis Dimitrakos of Descent Studio in Athens, while drums were recorded at Ignite Studio. The artwork was once again crafted by Branca Studio. It is a witchy album for witchy ears, a heavy opus that has emerged straight from the deepest abyss. Once again the father and son duo on guitars offer the listener a horde of crushing, fuzzy, Iommi riffs while the mammoth bass tears down everything in its path with its acid hooves. Its drums are thundering unearthly beats of harrowing doom while its mesmerizing vocals will bewitch you with their words of woe. Heavier and more diverse than its predecessor, 'Caravan' is here to tear you down with its acid tusks. Prepare to be doomed!!!
