DSD was founded in the beginning of the Earth year 2011 in Oulu, Finland, on band members' mutual love for '60s and '70s kraut, prog and psychedelic rock. This is the 6th full length album (4th on Space Rock Productions) by the Finnish space rock masters from the north! It features 6 high energy space rockers, originally released digitally in April 2023 but now it appears on vinyl. It features several special guests including Dr Space from Oresund Space Collective. The album opens with the high energy track 'Spaced And Confused,' with the classic DSD sound and vibe. 'Beyond The Cosmic Wall' has a bit of a Kingston Wall vibe and quite a psychedelic mix. 'Void Oscillations' is a very spacey and floating number. 'Indigo Blue' starts side B with a more mellow vibe for the first 3 minutes and then rocks into a cool spaced out jam. 'Matkalainen' is sung in Finnish and features some nice flute playing on this great track. The album ends with 'Nymphaea Tetragona (Forever Floating),' a more relaxed track, but the end has this sort of heavy bluesy stoner vibe. Cool way to end the album. Another classic space rock record! Limited to 148 copies on black vinyl.

Second album by Pennsylvania psychedelic band Glass Prism, originally released in 1970 and recorded in NYC with engineer Mike Moran (who worked with David Bowie, The Youngbloods, Herbie Hancock...). With a title taken from Kahil Gibran's 'The Prophet,' this is a heavier effort than their debut, featuring killer organ and piercing fuzz-wah guitar. Guerssen is proud to present the first ever LP reissue of this underrated hard-psychedelic classic. Original artwork. Sourced from the original master tapes. Originally released in 1969, 'Poe Through The Glass Prism' was one of the first ever concept-based rock albums. This Scranton, PA band (the first rock group from the Northeast to perform on national television shows and obtain a major record label deal) adapted Edgar Allan Poe poems to psychedelic rock with stunning results: swirling organ, fuzz bursts, passionate vocals... the sound quality was exceptional as the album was engineered and produced by Les Paul (the legendary inventor of the electric guitar and many studio recording devices) at his recording studio in New York. The album and its single 'The Raven' hit the Billboard, Cashbox and Record World charts in 1969 and remained on for several weeks. Guerrsen is proud to offer the first ever band sanctioned LP reissue of this cult psychedelic classic. Sourced from the original master tapes. Straight from the Texas Underground Kozmik Artifactz present to you 'Emergence,' the anticipated sophomore album by Land Mammal. Will Weise (ex-guitarist and founder of Gypsy Sun Revival) is a riff writer, guitarist, and sitarist who puts together compositions with the help of Kinsley August. Kinsley is a talented vocalist, front man, lyricist, and entertainer, who knows how to pull in and provide a dramatic performance for a crowd. Phil Soapsmith brings the bass grooves, and the whole process is recorded by sound engineer Bryan David, who not only plays drums, but also fills in on guitar, bass, keys, and other instruments as well. Many guest musicians are also featured on this release, including Isaiah Mitchell (Earthless, Black Crowes, Nebula), as well as other guests on strings, Hammond organ, tabla drums, and other exotic instruments to help bring the heady vibes. Light some incense and get enlightened with the help of 'Emergence' by Land Mammal. 'Emergence' is an unapologetic heavy psych album. It is a departure from Land Mammal's debut album, which featured more of an alternative and heavy blues style. This album brings in strong eastern meditation vibes, with sitar and tabla drums featured on most of the songs. The album is meant to be consumed from start-to-finish as a complete piece, but has also been broken up into individual songs to be enjoyed separately. The album starts off with an instrumental piece called 'Doors To Reality' which sets the vibe for the rest of the experience. The subsequent tracks go through the enlightenment process, including 'Tear You Down,' which is a conversation about losing ego, and 'Divide,' which is a commentary on the mental state of humanity. The album concludes with 'Transcendence,' which is a finishing instrumental piece, broken up into two parts for ease of listening. Limited to 200 copies on 180gr halloween orange vinyl. Previously unreleased album recorded in 1967 by cult UK psych-pop band The Living Daylights, led by Garth Watt-Roy and his younger brother (and future Ian Dury & The Blockheads) Norman and famous for their fabulous 'Rubbles' classic 'Let's Live For Today'/'I'm Real' 45 (also included here!). Originally from Harlow, The Living Daylights signed with Beatles publisher Dick James and their studio production team included famous studio musician Caleb Quaye. Their 1967 recording sessions resulted in just a couple 45s/EPs with the remaining tracks unreleased until now. In the music of 6hunesseq, the rich world of folk chorales meets the pipe organ and the archaic sounds of the talharpa and the violin. The latter two instruments are often used in traditional Estonian dance music. The interplay of these different sounds and timbres creates a meditative yet powerful soundscape. 6hunesseq revive an almost forgotten style of traditional Estonian music. On their album 'Ma Olen Maa Peal Vooras' ("As a guest on earth I wander"), the musicians bring not only folk chorales but also the Runo style into the present day. Runo music is a more than 2000 years old musical style, containing mythical and meditative elements.

As an American in Belgium, McLoud Zicmuse developed a deep love for some of the customs of his new-found homeland: a specific kind of archery ("staande wip"), celebrating carnaval, aging geuze-beers, and not in the least: playing de "hommel." the Flemish cousin of the Appalachian dulcimer. With the persona Linus Vandewolken, Zicmuse took a deep dive into these traditions. His love for the dulcimer is very real, yet he breaks out of the narrow framework in which the instrument is often handled. The additional use of homemade flutes, percussion instruments and some humming definitely add up to the experience. Zicmuse released a handful of tapes as Linus Vandewolken, and a double 10" on Okraina Records. But his musical curriculum is way longer than that. Under his own name, he did releases on a.o. Shelter Press, with Le Ton Mite on
Crammed Discs, and contributed to a long, long list of releases by artists as diverse as Yume Bitsu, Maher Shalal Hash Basz or Singers. For this opus, Linus Vandewolken provides some richly brewed compositions, with no added sugar or yeast. There is an elements of sourdough, the richness of earthy odors, the first song ('Terugkeer Van De Kudde') sounds like a smooth multi-tracked moment, but is actually a live multi-instrumental piece: a home-made double reed xaulos is played sparingly along the fingerpicked strings of the home-made hommel. Like the barley in the beer, the hommel remains the main ingredient of the disc. Multiple techniques are used to unleash its voice, from tapping to bowing, to all at the same time. A compilation of travels, residencies, desires_ songs have been harvested from 2019-2024 in France, Poland, Sweden, England, moments of Vandewolken's wanderings, evoking inspirations and collaborations in unlikely spots, like a pump organ cameo of Christo Wallers in a village chapel a short distance from Hadrian's Wall. As borders change and move, the flute comes around to sweetly catch our attention, metal lines from a
letterpress shop invade the hommel strings creating distortions and unlikely rhythms. Points of silence like small bubbles rising in the glass of a freshly poured geuze, an old gueuze from Niemandaal, 'Oude Geuze Uit Niemandaal.' Recommended if you like The Iditarod, Roxane Métayer, Jon Collin, Hala Strana. Limited to 200 copies.

Limpe Fuchs is a legend in the experimental music scene. In the late sixties, this percussionist drummed on self-made instruments, together with her then husband Paul Fuchs, in the Ensemble Anima. During that time, Limpe and Paul Fuchs cooperated with the classic pianist star Friedrich Gulda, as well as with jazz luminaries like Albert Mangelsdorff, and continually attracted the interest of their audiences in new constellations. For the most part, 'Amor' reflects on love as an interpersonal and spiritual experience. Drawing inspiration from such different authors as Giordano Bruno, Hilde Domin and Serge Kahili King, 'Amor' is a record of compositions one could almost call "songs" although they're far from being performed in a conventional way. It is also Limpe Fuchs' most openly insightful and vulnerable record to date.

Initially, Christoph Heemann invited the famous Anima duo to do a studio record in his home-town Aachen, but Paul Fuchs decided not to join in, so Limpe went on her own - and the recording sessions taking place in late 1986 and early 1987 turned out to become 'Via,' Limpe's first solo-record and the (visible) starting point of her ongoing exceptional career as an internationally performing, independent female improviser. Besides a plethora of (partly self-built) acoustic instruments that can also be heard on her legendary Anima (Music) records, such as violin, saw blade, chimes, wood block and Limpe's unmistakable unique vocals, 'Via' featured a korg-synthesizer, that drew Limpe's attention in the studio and she decided to give it a try and recorded a lot of electronic music for 'Via' - and in all the years to follow since then she never got near the instrument again; neither for studio recordings nor live performances. Fast forward to 2015: after not having met Christoph Heemann for many years, they got in contact again and performed selected dates (as Macchia Forest together with Timo van Luijk) when he proposed to Limpe another Korg-synthesizer recording. Not having touched the instruments in decades Limpe was reluctant at first but warmed up to the idea eventually and improvised a wonderfully meditative and soulful electronic piece of music. She also recorded five of her pendulum strings exclusively for the first time (with a bit of vocals, too) - huge self-built instruments of various size with an amazing sound rich of oscillating overtones. The both side-long recordings - one side Korg, one side pendulum strings - featured on 'Solaia' are a visceral document of Limpe Fuchs' artistic versatility and musical sensibilities. It's fair to say: the spirit of her musical approach is captured perfectly on this studio-album (mixed and mastered by her son Zoro Babel), which is released in conjunction with a first-time re-release of 'Via' - both to celebrate her long-standing musical career (and her eightieth birthday). Edition of 300 copies.

The album was released in October of the same year to immediate and enthusiastic feedback from the press and the public, and a few months later Zu began to play on stages all over Europe. But the band's inexperience in recording work weighed on them, because the impact they had live was not present in the sound of the CD at all. So it was that during the slightly forced hiatus from 2020 onwards, they finally found the time to reopen those recordings, rework them in various ways, resonate some parts and release 'Bromio' 25 years later in a sound that was much closer to the impact and sound system of their live performances. Listening to it again 25 years later, it still sounds fresh and vibrant, not tied to any predetermined genre or fashion of the moment (it is curious and almost comical that they were called 'jazzcore' when in fact the basis of their sound drew much more from prog and metal).

Since 1995, orphaned by their previous project, the three founding members of Zu (Jacopo Battaglia, Luca Mai and Massimo Pupillo) had been hanging out in the historic small room in Piazza Degli Zingari in Rome, every day, all day long, working nights and sometimes sleeping directly in the basement so as not to waste time. Looking for their own voice, without excluding any direction: electronics, tapes, sequencer (Film Nero) cello (played by their friend Francesco Chiari), and of course their first iconoclastic outbursts on bass sax and drums. One can obviously hear the shared love for NoMeansNo and Ruins, but much more was already part of Zu's DNA, including an instinctive ability to digest the myriad listens and influences that permeated them, without ever copying anything but transforming everything into their own personal voice. After about two years of intense and continuous rehearsals, this tape was the first demo they sent out, recorded in that room by their friend Giampaolo Felici, with whom they shared that space and with whom years later they would also found Ardecore. The cassette went around so much that the Zu themselves could not find a single copy of it, until one mysteriously reappeared, intact and still perfectly listenable, which transferred and mastered became, more than 25 years later, 'The Lost Demo.'

E Gone is Daniel Westerlund from Stockholm, Sweden, and 'Adventures Before The Body' is his long-awaited latest excursion into cosmically earthy musical alchemy, rounding out a trilogy of albums begun in 2013 with 'All The Suns Of The Earth,' and continuing with 'Advice To Hill Walkers' in 2016 (both also released by Deep Water Acres and Sunrise Ocean Bender). Musically, 'Adventures...' builds on its predecessors' eclecticism and love of sonic juxtapositions - astute psychedelic guitar lines swirled together with exotic instrumentation and modal motifs, rock riffs alongside ethnic percussion and old-school beats, drones and atmospheric effects blending into electronic deep dives. A pair of songs bring back Westerlund's vocals, though the overall compositional logic scales up from the shorter instrumental pieces on 'Advice...' into more progressive territory (most notably the 14-minute title track). As that suggests, 'Adventures...' also extends the triptych conceptually - if 'All The Suns...' was about waking up and breaking free, and 'Advice...' was a metaphorical travel guide of diverse vignettes, 'Adventures...' is about expansion or explosion, whether outwards or inwards; evoking, in the man's own words, 'a feeling of vertigo in the vastness of the universe...' That said, deep philosophical musings are in no way necessary to appreciate the sheer enjoyment within 'Adventures...' grooves. These are songs and sounds of mystery and wonder, as sonically experimental as they are melodically accessible, taking form somewhere outside of conventional genre lines... ELKHORN - OTHER WORLDS
Elkhorn has long traversed the valleys between fried cosmic psychedelia and American primitive, particularly the latter style's reverence for a wide range of folk and blues idioms ranging from country records compilations to the Mississippi Sheiks. While the pair is best known for their acoustic guitar explorations, 'Other Worlds' continues their recent experiments with other instrumental possibilities. For instance, on the previous Elkhorn release 'On the Whole Universe AI All Directions,' Drew Gardner switched to vibraphone and drums, with Jesse Sheppard playing 12-string guitar. 'Other Worlds,' on the other hand, finds them in a recognizable 'rock trio' format (in improvisational mode) - Drew is on electric guitar, with Jesse playing bass, and they are again joined by Ian McColm on drums, with the free-flowing groove he brings. On the opening track 'Watching The Skies' you can feel the forward propulsion this -dare I say- power trio sets up, a cosmic widescreen which Elkhorn proceed to rock and groove across the whole of 'Other Worlds.' Three flawless musicians in their own right, together they form a telepathic psychic link that taps into the otherworldly flow that is 'Other Worlds,' as the synergy created by Jesse and Ian leaves Drew plenty of space to take off on exhilarating and soaring flights of fuzzy haze fire that results in a musical journey toward transcendence.
