In 1971 the band presents their first album "dolce acqua" which offers an atmosphere based on a soft acoustic sound mixed with soft rock and a touch of jazz, enriched by Fossatis flute creating a sort of latin version of the more famous Jethro Tull. In 1974 its the turn of delirium 3 "Viaggio negli Arcipelaghi del Tempo" the most progressive of their works, enriched by a full string section and for the first time Di Martino uses the electric guitar. This album is generally considered amongst the top works in italian prog. In 1975 the group disbands. After years of silence and thanks to drummer Di Santos insistence in 2003 the band reforms with Vigo, Grice and two new members Fabio Chighini bass and guitarist-vocalist Roberto Solinas. Think of Graham Bond Organisation, Dave Davani Four, The Mohawks or any of those great mod jazz / soul jazz LPs that were imported from the US in the era and you'll get a close idea of what this album sounds like. Mostly offering killer versions of hits of the day ("Watermelon Man", "Mashed Potatoes", "Monkey Time"...) there is also one top sounding cover of the classic Ellington tune "Caravan" and three fantastic tunes written by the band, the credits of which give us the clue of the musicians involved, drummer Clem Cattini being one of them - thus throwing connections to other greats of the genre such as The Mohawks or Ugly Custard, and giving an idea of how TIGHT this band sounds, since Cattini (who had preeviously been in The Tornados and recorded under the direction of Joe Meek) was one of the more in demand session drummer and his work can be heard in many of the number one hits of the sixties and seventies. Although this album was never officially released at the time, this should be the second Gila album and even if only played as a radio broadcast, all of the tracks were brand new and are not available on their other two albums. In a similar fashion to the stunning debut album "Free Electric Sound", this album pulls out all the underground Krautrock vibes and is a truely great album. Some years ago these recordings found their way onto CD from "Garden Of Delights" (Nightworks). As this is not a studio album, the sound is not perfect, but the recordings have been (once again) restored at its best for this vinyl release. It is sophisticated progressive rock, taking a lot from symphonic rock (early King Crimson, Genesis) and from evolved hard rock (Rush, Triumph). In 2004 they participated in the much-anticipated Tribute to King Crimson, edited by Mellow with the collaboration of other Italian labels. Goad chose Epitaph, one of the most beautiful pieces from Robert Fripps band, whose symphonic panoply has always been a reference for Rossi and the group. The cover of Have You Heard - The Voyage by The Moody Blues is also made and would appear soon after on the tribute CD organized by Mellow Records. With great musicians like Gianfranco Dini, first French horn of Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Leonardo Tini, Nicola Di Staso, former Frank Zappa band member from the RAI orchestra, the album The Wood - Dedicated to H.P. Lovecraft was recorded. Mellow Records put it out in 2006. Toward the end of 2005, the group met Black Widow Records, possibly the most "alchemical" label in Italy, if not on the whole planet. An atmosphere was established between the musicians and the company that brought them quickly to the decision that they should work on some pieces from Dark Virgin. They would take those most in keeping with the style of the label, re-arrange them, modify them, record some new ones, and face the difficult task of testing themselves with a couple of absolute masterpieces like Killer by VDGG and 21st Century Schizoid Man by King Crimson. Goad, with fresh enthusiasm, manage to quickly write a new work entitled In the House of the Dark Shining Dreams, for which they prepared a new graphic look. Musically, the characteristics of the group remain the same, but this time the general sound seems substantial and energetic. There are sounds and atmospheres with no tempo, alive with genial lucidity they alternate between explosions of creative sound and moments of profound gothic romanticism. A new era for GOAD. Hunt & Turner got together in the summer of 1970, after having worked as some of the most in demand session musicians of the West Country's. Turner was an acomplished string bass player, while Hunt was already a big name on the Bristol scene, playing great guitar and writing songs. They moved around Bristol's Troubadour Club, which Turner had run for several years, and as once the duo was arranged they expanded their art around the UK and Europe. With this LP they gathered a small amount of success, reaching #6 in the Melody Maker folk charts. This obscure outfit is best known as the antecessor band of Can and not much is known about them except it featured the core members of Can (Irmin Schmidt, Holger Czukay, Michael Karoli and Jaki Liebezeit) and lasted just a few months before renaming themselves The Can and releasing Monster Movie. They left two ultra-obscure seven inches as their only recorded legacy and only the first of them is credited to The Inner Space, it contained two songs taken from the soundtrack of 1969's underground film Agilok & Blubbo. Originally released by the the german Vogue label in 1969, it currently fetches prices around the 300 euro mark in the collector's circuit. Given the obscurity of both the band and it's recorded output, we're proud to present, for the first time to the public, not only the aforementioned singles but the complete soundtrack to Peter F. Scheneider's offbeat political satire Agilok & Blubbo. Previously unavailable until now, the original mastertapes of this soundtrack have been stored in the archives of legendary german producer and music publisher Hans Wewerka who produced the recording sessions back in 1969. Here you can hear history in the making, the first step of a group of musicians who'll to achieve fame, success and recognition over the 70's, helping define a sound (often called kraut rock) that has been highly infuential to this days. Those familiar with Can's output will recognize some of the band's characteristic sound, albeit in a embrionary form. Songs like 'Agilok & Blubbo' or 'Kamera Song' already hint at their later pop brilliance whereas the short cues and extended free jams found elsewhere in this soundtrack reminds us from the heterogeneus roots of a bunch of musicians coming from rock, jazz and avant-garde backgrounds. All in all, an excellent glimpse into the early stages of an innovative band developing it's own musical language. This reissue includes detailed liner notes by Wah Wah's very own Raül G. The band got together again in 2002 and recorded a new Album on the Fuzzy label. 30 years later, in 2005 to our surprise there was a comeback at a Rockpalast gig in December 2005. From the old personell there are still 2 musicians on stage : William Souffreau, the main songwriter and singer and Luc de Clus, the genious Solo-Guitarrist. Ton Vlasman recorded this amazing piece of acid euro folk back in 1970, making it sound like an outter space freaked out Bob Dylan with the help of Frans Schoonen (organ, flute and harmonica) and Leo van Vugt (chincha tumba and tambourine). The seven original compositions are stunning, drug inspired psychedelic pieces of acid folk that mix Dylan with Indian ragas and even add some Pink Floyd overtones, yet from an acoustic rather than electric point of view. And the album contains also a very cool version of The Velvet Underground's "Pale Blue Eyes". If you evered wondered how would Dylan have sounded covering The V.U., here's a close example! The album, originally released on the small Flame label from Amsterdam, sold poorly back in the seventies - thus becoming a collector's piece when it was rediscovered in the eighties. Since then it has been gathering new fans that pay small fortunes for a copy, no reissue has been available until now that Wah Wah offers 500 copies in a lavish edition that will probably sell out soon, so grab your copy before it's too late! The beautiful cover art and full color poster insert with the lyrics are the work of Leendert Le Duc, and both are here faithfully reproduced as they deserve. Obviously inspired by the US West Coast sound but also echoing the more cosmic tendencies of the berlin scene, Walpurgis played a dreamy yet solid space-rock style which recall some of their contemporanies like Wallenstein, Ash Ra Tempel or Agitation Free whilst paying tribute to their american inspirations (Quicksilver Messenger Band, Grateful Dead, Jefferson Airplane) at the same time. The band was formed by Ken Henson, one of the co-founders of Freedoms Children. After he left that band, he was asked by the owner of a local hotel if he could get together an exotic/Eastern-sounding outfit to back a belly dancer at a hotels disco/pub." Henson (who played lead guitar and sitar), got hold of Brian Gibson who played bass, Sean Bergin who played flute and sax, Robbie Pavid on percussion. To fill out the evening, they started playing a hybrid of jazz standards, folk/rock and Eastern-type jams. The press duly noted that "their music is exotic, progressive, and not commercial." It was free-form music-a fusion of blues, folk, jazz and Eastern music... excellent and obscure. The Totum album was recorded in Johannesburg over a single weekend and released in early 1970; it consists of odd covers (Donovan, Dylan, Gershwin and others all get given the special Abstract Truth treatment) and one exceptional sitra-drenched original, Total Totum/Acid Raga. Their other album, Silver Trees, was an attempt to record more structured songs, to make the band a bit more accessible to the record-buying public. It didnt work back then, but with a little help from bootleg label Hugo Montes, the band did get some exposure within the past few years. In 1971 the band presents their first album "dolce acqua" which offers an atmosphere based on a soft acoustic sound mixed with soft rock and a touch of jazz, enriched by Fossatis flute creating a sort of latin version of the more famous Jethro Tull. The popularity of the band took a giant step in 1972 by appearing at the Sanremo song festival with the song "Jesahel" soon becoming a number 1 seller with over a million copies sold. Despite Fossati leaving the band (for military service) and being replaced by english flute and sax player Martin Grice, Delirium record their second album "Lo Scemo e il Villaggio" reaching a new level of full artistic maturity with a splendid album of progessive rock jazz. In 1974 its the turn of delirium 3 "Viaggio negli Arcipelaghi del Tempo" the most progressive of their works, enriched by a full string section and for the first time Di Martino uses the electric guitar. This album is generally considered amongst the top works in italian prog. In 1975 the group disbands. After years of silence and thanks to drummer Di Santos insistence in 2003 the band reforms with Vigo, Grice and two new members Fabio Chighini bass and guitarist-vocalist Roberto Solinas. In 2004 they participated in the much-anticipated Tribute to King Crimson, edited by Mellow with the collaboration of other Italian labels. Goad chose Epitaph, one of the most beautiful pieces from Robert Fripps band, whose symphonic panoply has always been a reference for Rossi and the group. The cover of Have You Heard - The Voyage by The Moody Blues is also made and would appear soon after on the tribute CD organized by Mellow Records. With great musicians like Gianfranco Dini, first French horn of Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Leonardo Tini, Nicola Di Staso, former Frank Zappa band member from the RAI orchestra, the album The Wood - Dedicated to H.P. Lovecraft was recorded. Mellow Records put it out in 2006. Toward the end of 2005, the group met Black Widow Records, possibly the most "alchemical" label in Italy, if not on the whole planet. An atmosphere was established between the musicians and the company that brought them quickly to the decision that they should work on some pieces from Dark Virgin. They would take those most in keeping with the style of the label, re-arrange them, modify them, record some new ones, and face the difficult task of testing themselves with a couple of absolute masterpieces like Killer by VDGG and 21st Century Schizoid Man by King Crimson. Goad, with fresh enthusiasm, manage to quickly write a new work entitled In the House of the Dark Shining Dreams, for which they prepared a new graphic look. Musically, the characteristics of the group remain the same, but this time the general sound seems substantial and energetic. LAST COPIES! Limited edition of 500 copies. The 1st new track by Blood Axis after many years! Here sharing a 7" with the British folk singer and song writer Andrew King. The overall theme of this release is the prose of the German middle-ages. Blood Axis interprets a "Minnelied" by Walther von der Vogelweide, living in the 12th/13th century and proposed to be the most important German speaking poet of that time. Andrew King interprets a song by Oswald von Wolkenstein, living during the same period, who stands as the an example of a knight. The specialty on both tracks is that both interpreters are singing the songs in the original language: "Mittelhochdeutsch", the language of the literature of that time, spoken during the time of the Staufer emperors. It is quite interesting to hear how good both interpreters are able to pronounce this difficult old language and how well their own music fits to those lyrics. An outstanding release that shows that it is possibile to work with tradition in an educating entertaining way.

"Practically impossible to make it brief here, H. Geerken: author, composer, musician, film-maker, performer, actor, mycologist, archivist, stager of exhibitions, publisher of numerous authors from the circle of literary expressionism and dada, lumberjack, bumble-bee-keeper. During his six-year stay in Egypt in the 60's he is co-founder (together with Salah Ragab and Edu Vizvari) of the Cairo Jazz Band as well as founder and head of the Cairo Free Jazz Ensemble. Played in various music groups: Embryo, trio with John Tchicai and Don Moye (extensive tour of Africa) and also with the Art Ensemble of Chicago. He worked with Sunny Murray, Don Cherry, Okay Termiz, Peter Kowald, Takehisa Kosugi, Toshi Ichiyanagi, Michael Ranta, ect... today Geerken possesses one of the most comprehensive Sun Ra archives. His book Omniverse Sun Ra (1994), which contains a first all-embracing discography of the musician, has meanwhile grown to be a priceless cult book. Together with James Wolf from the library of congress in Washington DC, he's editor of the recently published collected poems and philosophical works of Sun Ra. Better to read his bio to know more. This is Geerken's first ever solo release (a major event indeed!) and it was recorded under the influence of magic mushrooms (dried amanita muscaria). One of the instruments played here is Sun Ra's Sun harp (a Bulgarian bandura), which Sun Ra gave him in 1971 in Egypt, where Hartmut invited the Arkestra to play... they got no money to fly back to the States, so Hartmut kindly borrowed them some bread for the trip back...in exchange Sun Ra gave him his Sun harp (which you'd hear on several Saturn LPs and which was one of the few instruments that Sun Ra played besides keyboards) saying I'll buy it back from you one day...which evidently never happened. The other string instrument played here is a Swarmandal, which was given to him in 1976 in New Delhi by the renowed Dhrupad singers: the Dagar brothers.
