This work features very short sequences of concrete sounds, arranged in a structural and temporal way that the "known reality" is placed in a new frame & context, thus making it possible that the world behind may become "visible" through our acoustic senses. What is usually familiar is suspended in order to make new experiences. The used acoustic elements have been configured in a certain causal formation which is not consciously perceivable within the phenomenal order. 0327905 EP SUB 9 SUBSTANTIA INNO	VOICE OF EYE - SUBSTANTIA INNOMINATA (10") This release marks the comeback of the legendary duo from New Mexico, USA, consisting of BONNIE McNAIRN and JIM WILSON! Over a decade ago (1992-1995) VOICE OF EYE released three albums with their unique style combining ethnic, ritualistic & folklore influences in an experimental and highly organic way to create a kind of "transcendental drone ambience", using only "real" instruments & self-built devices and an array of electronic effects. In November 1994 they released an EP entitled "Sprocket" on Drone Records (DR-09), which is still one of the absolute highlights in the Drone series. After this first phase of musical creation VOICE OF EYE focused on building an incredible "Earthship" house in the deserts of New Mexico. In 2007 they returned doing shows in the States, Germany, France & Italy and releasing two limited CDRs. This 10" has 3 tracks with NEW material (entitled "VIRYA", "DHYANA" and "PURUSA") inspired by the wisdom of Buddhist / Advaitic meditation & philosophy, where the contemplation within music & sounds appears as a tool to reach a higher consciousness & awareness of reality. During this time the band continued to write songs and played numerous live shows with their studio technician (now a full time member of the band) filling the spot. Also in this period the band attracted another band member to perform live bass guitar on stage. Together they worked on a new album which was finished earlier this year after the lost member was back from the USA. This record is Irish Recording Tape. On this record the band has been perfecting their sound and song writing skills. Maybe the songs have been become more accessible in a way but they still show the typical style of Agent Side Grinder: drilling industrial sounds which may remind sometimes of Swans, hypnotic synth sequences that refer to krautrock and psychedelic music and post-punk influenced bass lines which will give you flashbacks to Joy Division. This started as a way to keep working together while one of the members was in the USA. Sounds and music where put to tape and send over the Atlantic Ocean and re-worked their and sent back again to Sweden. In the end this resolved into an unique album with amazing music. The Transatlantic Tape Project is a blending of 60s psychedelic music and 80s experimental industrial muzak which is molded into original contemporary ambient music. Maybe it is better to call this electronic Chamber Music as it is much richer in texture then ambient music. Think about a soundtrack for a David Lynch film, think early Cabaret Voltaire and think elements of Velvet Underground and you can maybe get an idea of the actual sound of this record. They were discovered by a local producer from Ohio, who owned the label "Starr-Records" and went there to record "Still looking" (further they released 3 three non-lp 45 records, which are 6 bonustracks on this CD & 3 on LP). In the psychedelic underground collectors scene the album got established as a classic psych-hard-rock rarity. Their sound is strong and melodic with awesome guitar/organ leads, solid bass and catchy vocals. Their natural float creates a hypnotic atmosphere and makes you listen to this album again and again. at all their musical spirit is closer to the end 60s blend, than the recording year 1974 reflects, and sometimes they remind of the early Bloodrock stuff. "Eyes in the wind" is a collection of 12 songs, all penned & recorded by Keith himself, between 1966-1981. All are totally unreleased. Keith sings and plays all the instruments (electric & acoustic & bow guitars, keyboards, bass, percussion and effects). Mainly acoustic album but heavy, fuzzy and phaser guitars are all over. A full of soul and deep feelings atmosphere vibrates the sensitive lyrics of charismatic Keith Law. Put it under the category of acid folk, loner/songwriter or mellow psychedelia, wherever you prefer. It's a true gem.and it would be a pity to leave all these recordings shelved. The album also contains the first recording (1967) of Jardine's "Masochists of strangulation". First ever official release, fully licenced by Keith Law.
