It was a long search to locate the rights for this album since it was not with EMI anymore. With the help of musicians and producers from The Third Eye and Freedoms Children we've found the original producer. He told us that the brother/sister band John & Philipa Cooper went shortly after the album was made to Britain and there it lost track. This amazing album has the same class as Billy Nichols, Duncan Browne and Blossom Toes. Many other musicians from S.A. where helping out. Every track is just great. Well composed underground songs, folk rock, effects, pop tunes just the right mixture for an album full of ideas and mastercraftly played. Perhaps one of the rarest albums from S.A. This album would have been a great success if it was produced in UK. It just has the right feel with the combination of great songs with an 60s art-vibe. 0336481 LP ASHLP 3009 5051125300921 PHOENIX	FAR EAST FAMILY BAND - NIPPONJIN Regarded by many as the first Japanese progressive rock group, the Far East Family Band featured the keyboardist and future new age composer, Kitaro. A keyboard-dominated space rock band, the Far East Family Band played extended compositions that brought comparisons to Tangerine Dream and early Pink Floyd. Nipponjin, the bands second album under their new name (the trio changed their name from Far Out to Far East Family Band following the release of Nihonjin which appeared on the Denon label in 1973) following , featured re-recorded material from the previous, The Cave Down To Earth as well as Nihonjin and was produced by Tangerine Dreams Klaus Schultz. The bands synthesiser-drenched sound had much to do with the meeting of keyboard player and soon to be new age composer Kitaros meeting with Schultz during a trip to Europe. One of Japans earliest prog bands, Far East Family became hugely popular in Japan and also achieved considerable attention in Europe too. "San Francisco Girls" quickly emerged as a staple of American underground FM radio, and won the band an international audience after becoming an airplay favorite of influential British DJ John Peel. "San Francisco Girls" is also the centerpiece of Fever Trees self-titled first LP, one of the periods most distinctive debut efforts. As the album demonstrates, the quintet was adept at incorporating jazz and classical influences, ambitious song structures and resourceful production touches. Such memorable numbers as "The Sun Also Rises" and "Come with Me (Rainsong)" benefit from Dennis Kellers hypnotic vocals, Michael Knusts dynamic guitar work and Rob Landes inventive keyboard textures. Also included is a memorable medley of the Beatles "Day Tripper" and "We Can Work It Out," and a unique interpretation of the Neil Young/Buffalo Springfield nugget "Nowadays Clancy Cant Even Sing." This selftitled album was the only one that Icelandic progressive rock trio Odmenn ever released. It was made at a critical point in Odmenn's history when the band members had agreed to take a sabbatical year while the guitarist studied law at the University of Iceland. They got together for the last time a year after the album was released and split up directly after having played only one gig. Odmenn was formed in early 1966 by the Johannsson brothers playing the most popular music clubs in Reykjavik. Most of Odmenns music could be categorised as protest songs or social studies touching topics like anti-war protest and fights against pollution, greed and deception balanced with more positive stances like hope for a better world with love and eternal brotherhood. "Psychedelic guitar pieces had become their trademark". Odmenn recorded this double album in Copenhagen with a release late December 1970. They wanted to record only a single but came up with a complete album of self-composed tracks. Since it was not that easy for a Scottish band to get attention down in London, this album was the only pressing ever done and sold at band gigs only. 5 musicians, great organ, vocals, extra heavy fuzz-guitar, drums and bass, amazing underground songs, influenced by Deep Purple, Uriah Heep and Beggars Opera, a true lost classic. 0336493 CD SHADOKC 115 SHADOKS MUSIC	THIRD EYE - AWAKENING Part 1: With the help of many music friends and a lot of patience we could finally arrange a deal to reissue the 3 albums by the South African band THE THIRD EYE for the first time. The original pressing came out on Polydor. Perhaps THIRD EYE is the best band from S.A. with the most innovative and complex music. Most music lovers would vote Freedoms Children as the biggest influence in S.A,. rock but THIRD EYE will share at least half of that cake. In cooperation with Dawn Selby (hammond organ) and her brother Ron (guitar) this project came to life again. They where based in Durban, a coastal city several hundred miles away from the recording and musical hub of Johannesburg and started playing in 1968. The first album AWAKENING came out in 1969 when the female organ player Dawn Selby was only 14 years old. Just imagine her age when you listen to the amazing organ and piano tracks. AWAKENING was released in 1969 followed by 2 more albums SEARCHING and BROTHER just one year later in 1970. What a musical output in such a short time. The band and composer must have sit on a volcano where they just waited to outburst their music onto the rock universe. AWAKENING is the most complex album of the 3 with great brass arrangements, piano, hammond organ, fuzz-guitar and vocals full of soul. REGION 0 : All Region. This film was shot in GERMANY at the Warm up Show for the KEEP IT TRUE FESTIVAL in TURNHALLE, DITTIGHEIM, GERMANY April 7th 2006, This was the first gig of a 7 date tour. At the time the band had no idea this film or sound was being recorded, at gigs you always see cameras etc and it doesn't mean much, anyway as it transpired the whole gig was filmed and recorded, after returning to England we managed to locate the multi-track sound recording and films. Our keyboard player Paul (Fazza) Farrington with a mate Matt Bishop took it away and sorted it out when he had the time, the result is a great typical DEMON Gig, a 1 HOUR set plus some offstage snippets captured with camcorder on the tour.

For those whose minds were blown by the seemingly unending depths of amazing slop bubbled to the surface by the Messthetics series, The Scrotum Poles' "Pick the Cats Eyes Out" and "Helicopter Honeymoon" (both from their only vinyl release, the legendary, oddly-sized Revelation EP) were arguably the best of the mess. Formed in Dundee, Scotland in 1978, the scrappy Scrotum Poles exemplify wonderfully the anything-goes attitude of the time immediately following the first wave of punk, and Auchmithie Forever opens up a perfectly imperfect chapter of this exciting period. Sure, there's nods to the obvious punk forebears, and the surefire upbeat punk-pop hits are undeniable, but other dreary pop tendencies come much closer in sound to early Go-Betweens or the loping bass-driven bands appearing out of Manchester in following years. Auchmithie Forever has been painstakingly culled from hours of lost-then-found-then-lost-then-found-again C-90 cassette tapes recorded by the band before and around the recording of the legendary Revelation EP. The best of the best songs from three different tapes appear here, including different versions of both "Pick the Cats" and "Helicopter" (pop fans will LOVE the drum-less, near-acoustic bedroom version of "Pick the Cats"). Cassette transferring was a monumental task, but no expense or effort was spared to find the right balance of noise and clarity. In addition to their admitted lack of instrument mastery or traditional tuning abilities, the recordings are mucky-the tapes made muckier with 30 years of soggy English basement storage. Sticklers for hi-fi recordings will run for their lives, but those with patience (or love) for some hiss & flutter will be generously rewarded. Ink Passion started off as an exhibition in art gallery Box 38 in Oostende last summer and a book got published as well, since this was such a success, she also produced this calendar. Tattoos are a big trend at the moment, so many people have one now, on TV you can see these programs Miami ink or LA ink and its growing popularity, this was just a big advantage to get a big interested in Cindy's exhibition. Then, after a lapse of several years, a video tape arrived in the mail. Looking like the product of a discarded Korean surveillance camera, The Residents quickly recognized the unidentified video as the "work" of the long lost Bunny. At first amused, the group soon became disturbed by Bunny's obvious cry for help, attempting to gain support finding his missing "brother" Harvey. Enough of the Wolf Eyes history lesson, we are now at 2009 and Young is releasing one of his strongest works ever, the deep and impressive "Regression" solo album on iDEAL! Analog synths, tape delays, loops - presented in a restrained, relaxed and controlled way. This makes the music even more sick and dark than the WE sound. I guess Young was inspired by vintage horror movie soundtracks, 70's ambient synth stuff and intoxication. These things comes to my mind anyways. Nate Young is here proving that he is covering a wide range of experimental music and that he is no doubt one of the few masterminds in the rougher parts of electronic music. iDEAL is highly recommending this to anyone claiming to be interested in synth and tape music.
